@Zachtronics_XBL I'm kind of an amateur baseball historian. Baseball has been my passion since the 1986 Mets.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL if you are into podcasts there is a really cool podcast called the midnight library of baseball. I highly recommend it.
-
@ralph13m_PSN Have you ever used Out of the Park Baseball? With that software, you'll never need to look up another statistic anywhere else. You find guys like Tony Mullane, who was one of the Reds' franchises' best pitchers, who could throw left or right.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I usually just use baseball reference for stats and then sim try to get stats fairly accurate. However, that works better for pitchers than it does for hitters.
-
@ralph13m_PSN And there's another funny thing. Brooks looks NOTHING like him, and they've been using that model since at least 2016/2017. I'd have to pop in those versions to my PS5 to remember exactly.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL Tom Seaver doesn't really resemble Tom Seaver, either. And, they don't have his wind up quite right. And, John Franco looks kind of like just a generic player that is in the stock editable players.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL where do I find that software?
-
@ralph13m_PSN After they "upgraded" the textures, making players look as accurate to their real life counterparts has been more difficult. Everything is too soft and matted down.
Seaver was actually "upgraded", but I'm not sure he looks better.
Rafael Palmeiro just looks like a guy with a mustache. He could be Tom Selleck for all we know!
Out of the Park Baseball 2026 is on Steam, at the very least. It's $50 but it's got the entire history of the sport. I've never seen so much information in one place, organized too.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL the problem, also, is that the sliders are too sensitive. At least on PS5. You barely touch the L/R sticks & it's all over the place.
I will look into that. Thanks for the info.
-
@ralph13m_PSN What do you mean about the sliders?
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I mean the like the height/depth for eye position or nose lengths. Those things.
-
@ralph13m_PSN You'll get used to that, especially if you use the digital pad
-
@Zachtronics_XBL is there a digital pad controller?
-
The digital pad on your PS5 controller, just tap it to move by one
-
@Zachtronics_XBL oh. I didn't even think of that. I never use it. Lol
