Crossplay Co-op error

I’m having an issue where whenever my friend (xbox series s) invites me (ps5) to a co op game (or i invite him), and i accept the invite. It gives an error that says “Session failed, the party server denied your connection attempt”. has anyone else had this issue? if so, how can i fix it?

having the same issue but my friends who are on ps5 are able to play with no issue. seems like a crossplay related thing
