I'd love to see it be Barry Bonds. Given we're getting to the best cards of the season, it only makes sense it'd be him.

They wouldn't let a legend Luke him wait this long and he would be advertised.
-
He would never sign a deal for his likeness as he doesn't like being portrayed in video games.

There's a greater chance we'll see Barry Pepper in the game before Barry Bonds.
-
Barry Bonds can't be in the game because he left the Players Association when he was still playing and that didn't sit well with the other players. You have to be part of the players association for your entire career to even be thought of for this game
-
Every year people keep asking for Bonds and every year, we say the same [censored]. Some people just dont get it. its not a money thing. its not SDS ignoring him or being cheap. It has nothing to do with steroids. He doesn't want to do it. I'm sure he's been approached on numerous occasions. HE WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.
-
I'm hoping for a 1990 Mel Hall flashback.
-
@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN You're probably right, but you have to admit it'd be a great climax to the game season.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN My guess is they haven't come to an agreement. The steroids argument really doesn't play anymore since McGwire and Sosa, and a few others, are in the game. I suppose one could put together a Barry clone. But imagine a Bonds 99 and an Ohtani 99 facing off.

@sbchamps17_NSW The ESPN story I saw didn't say he left the Players Organization, but, to quote the story, he "informed the union that he would not be signing the organization's group licensing agreement next year and would instead pursue licensing opportunities on his own." That sounds like a money thing to me. He figured that, at that time (2003), he'd do better individually negotiating off of his fame. He has also seemed a bit lighter in attitude these days than he was back then. I'm still holding out hope that one day he'll be in it. Maybe even on the cover.

Will never happen

@beatlesnews_MLBTS The difference is, Maguire, Sosa, palmeiro and pettitte all, eventually, admitted to using steroids, while Bonds and Clemens still, arrogantly, deny ever using them. The interesting one for me is arod as he did eventually admit it but not until he got caught a second time.
-
@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN Reggie Stocker?

A-Rod can kick rocks. I'm a Red Sox fan but friends with a bunch of Yankee fans. And the majority of them don't even like him.
I need Manny being Manny in the game desperately though.

I love the optimism, but people expecting a new Legend are setting themselves up for disappointment.
Dropping a big name in late September just isn't a thing and from a business standpoint it is understandable why they don't do that. I think the latest they've ever done something like that has been The Show 19 when they revealed Honus as the main collection reward in late July.
If Barry Bonds or Manny Ramirez are ever in the game you will know before it comes out.

I don't think most of us expect a new name this late. I'm only talking next year.
This program will probably suck if the trend continues.

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN Reggie Stocker?
No. It was someone named Pedro or Pablo.
Generic player. And he was maxed out to 99s in all attributes. This was before they bumped the attribute ceiling to 125.
I think you had to do a TON of missions with the Joe Random card.
Maybe @SaveFarris_PSN knows whom I mean.
-
Reggie Stocker was their generic version of Barry Bonds. They didn't try to hide it. He was on SF and was a 99 and the National League Collection reward.
Pepe Alazar (Basically Joe Random in Spanish) was in '17

YES! THANK YOU!

The first 4 cards revealed. There will be more.
99 Prime Kevin Pillar
99 Milestone Rich Hill
99 Finest Chris Martin
99 Prime Jason Heyward -
Can someone post a pic of it
