P5 1/1 Club

This is my thing now. These were all done in about 5 days each. No all-nighters lol. Would have needed to do that to get my Clemente 1/1. I'll take the 2/2.
Feel free to post yours in this thread.
Johan OOP 1/1
Winker TN 1/1
Cal Raleigh TN (S3) 1/1
Jon Singleton TN 1/1
Mullins Captain 1/1
Clemente HOF 2/2 -
Captain Verlander and Action Figure Trevor Hoffman for me.

Congrats. I don't have any P5's yet. That hill between P4 and P5 seems daunting. If my memory serves it takes as much XP to go from 4 to 5 as it does to make it to P4. So essentially when you hit P4 you are only halfway there.

That's true, but reducing the P5 threshold from 10,000 to 8,000 this year is helpful. I've got maybe 3-4 pitchers who are at P4 but none have quite broken the P5 threshold yet. When I do stat grinding (usually for the weekly season awards drop), I usually do a 9-inning Play vs CPU and that's an easy way to get like 600 or more PXP per start.
I don't know how people get to P5 with position players. I switch dudes out of my roster way too often to get that far.

I agree and I am fine with P5 being a grind and not easy to complete.
I do feel like it is a Trophy as much as anything. The +5 to stats are nice but at my level it is not a game changer and the difference between plus 3 or 4 compared to plus 5 is minor.
-
I only have a couple P5s but never got 1/1, but congrats on getting all those

I agree 100%. The boost to attributes is (mostly) negligible. As my supervisor at work says, "the juice is not worth the squeeze." I was able to be 1/1 on P1 through P4 for LS Nick Nastrini (rookie SP for the CWS) the day he was added to the roster. I felt confident that I would be the first to P5 , but by the time I woke up the next morning someone else swooped in and got to P5 first. I just gave up grinding with him altogether so he'll probably be P4 forever. If being 1st to P5 is a fun chase -- but being 2nd holds absolutely no appeal -- then that means it's just a trophy and the benefits are pretty much useless.
All that said, I don't think SDS needs to tweak the attribute boosts or anything. The whole parallel system is fun and I hope they keep it. One day I'll be first to a P5.
-
@SchnauzerFace_MLBTS With pitchers, you really need to finish within the day if you want it. Giving the 1/1 and extra attribute point would be fun for the chase.
-
I have no 1/1 but i have more P5s in this game than any other so far, mostly pitchers.
95 Glasnow
90 Santana
99 Pettitte
99 Sabathia
89 Wagner
89 Iglesias
99 SengaSkenes 99, Sale 99 and Gibson 99 all at P4, soon to be 5.
For batters, i only have 89 Shawn Green but my season 1 team is all P4, close to P5.

In the famous words of Ricky Bobby... "If you ain't first, you're last".

Exactly. I don't do it for the extra 5 attribute points. It's a trophy and something I can be offline competitive with.
-
I do the reverse, I try to p1 as many cards as possible.
Now that I can play with older season cards freely Ive been using a lot of those, Im guessing I have close to 400 p1s for s1 now.Since I rarely play more than 2-3 games a day now (which is more than enough to do all content) I have much fewer s2 and s3 p1s.

Got 3 more 1/1s to add to the collection:
98 Greg Vaughn MS
97 Sam Hilliard TN
97 Logan Driscoll TN -
Live series Mick Abel for me this year. Was going after some others that were commons but the bots who loaded into ranked of all commons beat me to it
-
@jbrown51016_PSN That’s a fun idea. Next year I might try to load up my live series team with team captains and try to P5 all of them.

How do you get all those hitters P5 so fast?
-
That's it. I didn't play in Season 1. And didn't aim for these in Season 2.
One thing I admit is it would be a lot harder back in Season 1 when they're were a lot more people playing.
It takes me on average 5 days to complete a P5 hitter.
Notice I have no pitchers yet. That's because they go faster, and I think it's because people bunt into outs on purpose to level up their pitchers. I refuse to do that. Can't imagine how boring it would be.
-
I have no new groundbreaking secrets to share. It's pretty much what I think other people do:
- Obviously have your focused hitters at the top of lineup.
- Find the worst pitching (I mix in White Sox and Rockies).
- Play as much as you can CPU on Rookie.
- Play either at a "little league stadium" from Stadium Creator or Coors (so you get first at bat). I lean more to created stadiums over Coors though.
- Maximize your Captains - I pretty much always run Kershaw and then either O'Neil Cruz or Max Muncy.
- Focus on hitters you click with. The higher your OPS, the faster it will get done. I usually range from 2.200 to 2.700 by the P5 end with each hitter. (Remember it's on Rookie)
