Runners Ignoring Commands on Fly Balls

Why do runners sometimes advance to the next base on a fly ball and ignore my commands to stop or return to base?
This has been an issue in MLB 23 and now in MLB 24, and it frustrates me to the point that I end quitting even if I'm winning. I hate looking as if I don’t know how to play. -
@chekua_PSN Are you yelling at the TV or are you pressing the corresponding buttons to direct the runners?

I'd be more concerned over the AI becoming sentient to ignore given commands.

Machines ignoring command isn't a problem, it's the time traveling genocidal machines that look human that we should be concerned about

With all the glitches and freezes in MLB 24 The Show, (I have had three of them in as many days), I am more of afraid of that than Genisys or Skynet taking over the world.
