    Picked it up today since it went on PS+ and I'm pretty sure I'm 0-6 or 0-7 on perfect / perfect contact so the nostalgia factor is there.

    @Dolenz64_XBL Absolutely. Perfect perfects shouldn’t be a hit every time. They are a good result the vast majority of time which is realistic. There also needs to be a distinction between content and gameplay. The argument that the game isn’t realistic because we can use dead players isn’t the same thing as wanting games not to be a HR derby. I’d bet that most people want realistic gameplay and fun over realistic content. There’s a difference.

    If you guys read the in game strategy guide it’d tell you exactly what percentage of perfect perfects result in any outcome. Just read it and stop posting about “my perfect perfects aren’t good” read what it says and you’ll learn that a percentage of perfect hits are outs or fouls

    But it's a video game not real life physics. A part of my point is that a video game with a system to give you the results of your input need to reflect those results accurately otherwise don't display them. I fully understand baseball physics and what can happen. I've played it up to college.
    This isn't real life and it's a video game first. I'm happier if they leave the gameplay physics as they are and remove all results other than location and DO NOT tell your how "good" the hit was. If a perfect perfect doesn't always mean perfect perfect then it should say perfect/ok. It's misleading and very frustrating from a GAMING perspective. I could care less about realism. Babe Ruth throws 100 mph in this game for Pete's sake.

    Most hitting is trash. Too many of my good swing timings near the middle of the plate are foul offs. Hitting seems broken

    Few things I've noticed with this year'[censored]ting:

    1- Direction of the hit isn't matching the timing of the swing. Example of this is making contact with the ball square with the top of the plate, perfectly in line...yet the result is a pulled grounder to third when it should have been a worm burner right up the gut.

    2- CPU seems to be able to pull sliders down and 6" away for no doubt homeruns. I couldn't care less about giving up a dong-bomb when I make a mistake. It's gonna happen. But those insane reaching ones drive me insane because they're simply so improbable.

    3- Inconsistancy. If a 109 exit velo ball with a 32 LA ball dies on the track, I don't want to watch the CPU hit a 37 degree 88 MPH exit velo homer to the same spot in the park two innings later

    4- Overall knee [censored] reactions and overcorrections SDS has done the past couple years is a little insane.

    " If a line drive shot goes straight to an infielders glove then the game should simply reflect that the hit wasn't a perfect perfect."

    why? a perfect perfect hit means he hit it on the screws, good wood, right on the sweet spot......a 109 exit veto right to the SS should be PP, because it was.....PP doesn't mean hit, it means where the ball hit the bat in perfect timing., unfortunately sometimes that's an out....You only remember the ones that were outs, most PP are hits.

    also by your logic all bad swings should be outs. but that wouldn't mimic baseball at all. I want the game to lean more to arcade than simulation but Texas Leaguers should still exist (and yes both PP and Texas leaguers , seeing eye singles etc are just as frustrating in the game as real life.......but they should exist)

    Most of my hits aren't perfect. Are you telling me it doesn't matter if it's perfect or bad cause anything can happen? So the information you're receiving about you swing is arbitrary?

    @AdeptOfMemory_PSN I don’t think anyone is saying that. I think the idea is that the better the input, the more likely it turns into a hit. I think that’s generally true in real life and in the game.

    @AdeptOfMemory_PSN

    yeah that's exactly what im saying.....did you play baseball? I don't want it to be a simulation, prefer it to lean to Arcade but I can't tell you how many times I hit the [censored] out a ball right to the LF or SS....always gave me the "Really? Smirk"....or the times I hit it off the end of the bat for a single in the 6 hole, which included a "WTF, Ok?" grin on my face.....but the pitcher had the opposite look on each instance. Thus saying, it has to be a little balanced, although PP swings should be hits most of the time.

    The problem I think, is that we remember the ones that were outs, and not the ones that were hits.
