Runners sliding into base instead of rounding
-
I have had this issue where let’s say I have a runner on 2nd, I rip one up the middle and my guy on 2nd slides into 3rd without giving me the option to send him home. By the time he gets up and is ready to advance home, it’s too late. Any one had this issue or know a fix for this? I am simply not good enough to lose out on even 1 run haha

Your right analog stick is probably getting stuck in the slide position

@Tylerslikewhoa_XBL thank you. But no.

@mattbfaded_PSN, I've only encountered a similar issue if I sent the runner with the pitch; it seems that, sometimes, a stealing runner ignores the world around them and hits the dirt like the catcher's throw is imminent... even if the ball is skipping to the wall after being hit.
If you weren't running on the pitch, then I've got no answer (and haven't experienced that).

This and this is the only time that happened to me too

My guys won't even run to the next base they keep stopping in the middle how do I fix that.

I use analog and slide a lot. My case is more like what @The_Joneser_PSN said. I think this has to do with individual player attributes and quirks. I think if the runner has poor baserunning stats and reaction then they will likely do the least effective thing when running against the defense tag. Idk maybe the AI isn't that good in this game but I know now for a fact that when players are fielding and their reaction and fielding stats are bad they will do the dumbest [censored] when the ball comes their way. I bet it does the same for baserunning.

@Raginbull2184_MLBTS If „they“ do that regularly you are either pushing to triggers (that makes them stop) or your controller is malfunctioning

Be sure that your right index finger is not touching the R1 button (if they go back to previous base) or R2 button (if they just stop).

How do you even slide in this game. Never figured it out.

Depends on the slide method you use but I believe the default is Analog Button which means you point your Left Stick to the player you are attempting to slide with and your right stick towards the base you're sliding to. At first it can be tricky but once you figure out the mechanics it's not too bad.
Right stick might actually just be pointing up but what I said works for me. I slide into almost every infield hit and that's what works for me.

I thought the same thing so I bought a brand new controller same thing. So I tested out by using timing hitting. I got a runner on 1st and one on third I sat the controller down and when the pitch came in I pushed A hit the gap and my runners both ran a couple feet and stopped. I wrote SDS and showed them.

The issue of runners stopping has been ongoing all season. It is not bad controllers nor user hitting buttons they shouldn’t.
It happens when a ball is hit and the runners hesitate to see if it falls in. They forget to run once they hesitate. (Sometimes)
What’s frustrating is that it doesn’t happen consistently. There are times they remember to run and times they just stand there.
I’ve sent numerous tickets to SDS on it this year. My tin foil hat seems to think that the runners start stopping towards the end of an inning where I’ve scored a bunch of runs.
