Players diving while running to field a ball

I assume that my L3 on the controller is a bit messed up and causes this but idk. I know that R1 and R3 are options to dive/jump but why is my player full on laying out while running after a ball. If any else has experienced this or played me in a game where it happened lmk because it’s happened too often and is incredibly aggravating
