This is sad and I wonder if SDS will do anything to honor Mays in the game. He was one of the great one's and someone players tried to emulate from Bonds ( his godson ) to even Junior and guessing many many others who have played the game.
I would like to see a program for a CORE Mays that is like 92 - 94 in a couple weeks. If not that is cool but would be nice to see a program for him.

Very sad news.
I'm at work on the app selling my dupes, and came across his 99 before the news broke, and thought of how short of a time I got to use his Set 1 collection card. Maybe they change that to CORE? Most likely not, but something to think of. -

I know people would complain about power creep, but they could just make his season 1 card a core card as well.

He is getting a negro league chapter this week
not enough now that he passed -- period
BUT like i said I will understand if they do not do a program since they prolly have a road map to what they are doing that cannot be changed or at least cannot be changed without some issues. -- I do think IF we get no program honoring his MLB career and everything he ment to MLB we will get a free 90 to 92 in the shop.

I feel like they could create a program or something similar pretty easily. They probably should have had some program lined up for the Rickwood game and since the Giants are playing, he could easily be inserted as the prize.
I know he has a 99 collection from season 1. They need to make that a Core card. Maybe that’s the final prize is that you get to convert his card to a Core card.

I agree that they should (albeit doubtfully will) convert his 99 to a CORE/S2 card (or complete a program that converts it), HOWEVER:
1 - People who didn't collect his S1 card will complain. (SIMPLE SOLUTION: Give him via a free pack to everyone who doesn't have him).
2 - People who already have his S1 card but not all three will complain because some people are getting a freebie while they're not.
3 - People who already have all three S1 cards will complain because some people are getting a freebie while they're not.
As for 2 and 3, a possible solution is to give them the choice to exchange a duplicate for stubs or something (like with the extra Easter Eggs). Or just ignore them...

Willie Mays needs an MLB Storyline along with Ichiro Susuki next year. To me, in my opinion, that would be a fitting tribute for the "Say Hey, Kid."
