Limit The Number Of Switch-Hitters In Online Games
-
There really should be a limit on the number of Switch-Hitters a team can use in their line-up. Some players just stack their line-up with only Switch-Hitters, and it's tedious and annoying. It's not remotely like real baseball -- no team has 9 Switch Hitters in their lineup. In Events, they vary what you can and cannot do with your lineups (i.e., no pitchers over 64 or no lineup over 96, et. al.), so what about this? It's just really frustrating to come across these teams repeatedly (especially in Events).

Translation : Someone beat me with a team full of switch hitters and the Santana captain boost.

It's still, in my eyes, an issue. Once someone finds a Meta; that meta gets exploited.

Let people play the way they want to play. There’s no reason they should put that type of limitation in their game.
-
That's Switch-hitter-ist!

The cat is already out of the bag, so to speak.
SDS made Slamtana into a Frankenstein monster, making him a SH captain. They can't change it now.
'It's aliiiiiiive!' -

Yes, it is … They created a very bad meta … If the see it as this (it does not matter how I/we view it), they can do whatever they want with it (reduce boost, more players, …) or simply put out other legit captains that replace this meta (and hopefully do not create another big one like this).
If I were SDS, I would control it by limiting the players I put out having switch-hitter-abilities. E.g.: If I wanted to bring out Mickey, I would wait for S3 (Boss pack). Same with some other switch hitters … that being said: There you have Eddie Murray … That leads me to: They do not see it as a bad meta (fingers crossed that this may change)

It does get boring seeing the same all switch hit teams. Seems over the last four days playing about 40 games I faced Kerry Wood and all SW teams more than 50% of the time.

jepp, that is the downside of overpowered captains. People will use and abuse them
-
@pharley_MLBTS but your ok with dead guys on the team?
DD is not real baseball. -
I don’t think I’ve played a single person using an all switch hitting team. Sure lots of people use the boost, but people are exaggerating that this is a legitimate problem. You aren’t losing because of a broken meta.
-
@BuddyHightower_XBL Yes, I'm okay with "dead guys" on the teams. When I say "real" baseball, I mean the game, at its best, is supposed to emulate real baseball. And when people turn this simply into a video game -- with either insane, home made parks where every fly ball is a home run, or use all Switchhitters on the team, etc., I find it detracts from what I enjoy about the game. There's all kinds of limits re: Season eligibility, etc., so I don't see why implementing something that prevents teams from only using oppo hitters against pitchers can't be implemented. It just gets boring and not as much fun to play.

It looks like I was not that far off: they nerfed the boost, which is awesome

@GoozeFn_PSN once you hit ds and up it was quite literally 90% of the games you would play would be Santana boost and probably a 50% chance the Kershaw boost as well. It was a legitimate problem, which is why they nerfed it.
-
@Wildthingwilly_MLBTS I understand the complaint. I just think taking away a fun boost is a bad thing. I understand nerfing it, but I think they took it too far by removing clutch completely from his boost.

Needed nerf. Glad SDS did something about it. as they say a major W

@pharley_MLBTS how can you even be serious about this when the Captain boost requires you to have a certain amount of them to activate?
