You now the game is in a bad way when ALL of the major content creators having nothing positive to say about it. Koogs, Dimmu, Shelfy, Chev, Kyle, Playful, Ray, Gomes… every one of these guys have either dedicated videos or massive social media rants about this game. And these are guys that got “care packages” from SDS.
Those guys only care because their channel numbers have taken such a massive hit, and quite frankly their content is terrible anyway.
And their channels have taken a massive hit because the game is bad. You just proved my point. Weather you like, love, hate, or don’t even know who any of them are it’s very apparent they pay their rent by making MLB content. And if nobody is watching that content, the game is dying.
The game is not dying and isn't dead. Stop listening to morons. The only people the game is dead to are the 0.5% of the player base at the elite levels. The rest of us? Not dead.
I find games at an instantaneous rate in ranked, coop, and events. That's not a dead game so stop parroting what creators say and try having a brain for yourself.
NOW, I fully expect numbers to dwindle if changes aren't made for S2 but at no point has the game been dead or dying during S1.
The vast majority of posts and replies here are negative. The same goes for Reddit and social media. You basing the health of the game on your ability to matchup quickly is as ignorant as thinking every person playing the game hates it.

@jake98833 Sorry its not terrible. you can try and downplay it all you want, but more and more are switching to different games and getting the same numbers. Sorry i'm guessing you're jealous of their success so of course their content is terrible.

@aaronjw76 but the game is dying. July 16th, could very easily be the Dday of MLB the Show 24. Players are going to play, meaning they are going to not be as engaged in S2 of MLBTS. Say what you want about EA, Sports Gamers loved College Football. Loved it...after a 10 year+ absence, players are going to flock back regardless of EA. If the developmental team of NCAA 25, can listen to players unlike Madden and offer a fantastic Ultimate Team experience along with a great dynasty experience, people will not come back for Season 3.
Also the reason why finding a game is instantaneous because they took away the ratings finder. At the end of your next RS game go look at the ratings and realize, that person was outside my Ratings bar.
Can the '24 game be saved. of course. People love baseball, i love playing MLB the show. but this change this year in particular with the big revamp of NCAA Football was a mistake. One they are ignoring.

Everyone I play in ranked and coop are within my rating range. If they stopped doing this then the elite players wouldn't be complaining the game is dead because it takes THEM 30 mins to find games.

Previously, the streamers would put up tier lists gradually, review cards throughout the year, and would not have to spend any stubs other than their Day 1 purchase the LS collection. They would then grind (or have others grind for them) the numerous cards that are released throughout the year, and test them for their streaming content. With SDS implementing Seasons/Sets with expiring cards, along with putting other cards behind a paywall (ie packs), this has made the streamer's content model more challenging. -

But, hey, folks… It is not always black or white. I think we all agree on some points:
- More packs should be earnable
- There could be more stuff to do … for example: More other programs with cards to play for
- There could be more/new game modes
The rest (at least imo) is some grey area:
- There are too many foul balls
- Some people like the gameplay as it is (for me: too many HRs compared to previous years)
- Some people hate max elevation parks (oh yeah, I do)
If we continue to discuss black or white and be mad if people have other opinions, it will just fill forum pages.
Imo too much energy is used for calling out people not having the same opinion.EDIT: But it is hillarious reading these posts and praising content streamers for once. Usually it is the other way around … they work for SDS and only say nice things about the game (because they have to)

I do not watch many streamers, but I am not surprised that they are not happy with Seasons and expiring cards.Imagine the disappointment if more businesses functioned like this. For example, what if you purchased a car, then some authority said that you only had two years to drive it before it would become "ineligible"? You could still drive it on your street, just not on the freeway (There is actually more to this analogy, but not going to get into that here).

I watch some of them and all complain about the packs and not having much to do (content). It is not about Seasons … Second is gameplay (mostly foul balls). And sure if something is bad for their business, they do videos on that topic. But their point is valid, I do not think that many here disagree.
But that does not mean that everything is bad either. They made major steps (imo) improving upon 23, e.g. the reborn power creep

I agree and I'm glad he said what he said. These issues are real and when you come here to voice your frustrations you get gaslit and mocked into oblivion. I'm happy Kyle made this video and I hope it helps this toxic community understand it's not just skill and bad play. It's frustrating to run into these issues. Sometimes the player is bad yes but these gameplay issues are REAL!You don't get mocked for expressing your views and frustrations. You get mocked for being a complete douche bag to people and the way you go about expressing those frustrations.
