I've put in a solid amount of time in playing basically every game mode the game offers and I likely won't get a 99 outside of the TA3's.
If you have a life outside of this game, you're basically SOL if you want to earn the high end cards. And if you happen to get them, you'll have maybe a week to use them at this rate.
They've ruined this game for me.

It’s gotta bring up some warning signs for SDS here.
Which metric should SDS trust more: their own internal stats or twitter polls?
-
@SaveFarris I'd hope both. 20K is a solid sample size and likely has some statistical significance.
-
@sbchamps17
I think they will. They might make the final two weeks all double(regular) XP which could help some people. If they were smart, they'd triple the XP and quintuple the cap for the final week or something
-
@SaveFarris
Respectfully, nigh 20k votes on each one is an extremely safe sample size to at least look into. But we all know SDS would spin/cherrypick their metrics in a manner that would support their decisions.
For example: Last year I opened a survey link, started it. First question was "Would you like to provide positive feedback on Sets introduced in MLBTS 23?" or something along those lines. I selected "No", next screen: "You are ineligible for this survey at this time. Thank you"
-
@Sarge1387 to be fair just turn off the cap and run double for the last 2 weeks. But they have failed miserably at reading the room. I get there are some who are going to complain no matter what but there are an overwhelmingly number of content creators and community members who are pooping all over them. The lack of transparency hurts as well. Bottomline season 2 I’ll play but not like before I know NCAA comes out July 19th and my focus will go to that.

The twitter poll has a sample size.
Their internal metrics isn't a sample. It's the entire dataset.

I'm at 982K XP. So I should hopefully at least get 2 of the 3 XP path bosses. Could get all 3 if there is another double XP weekend. I was hoping they would do double XP for this upcoming weekend with the extended holiday on Monday. Haven't seen that they have announced that yet (huge miss for the player base if they don't). As for collections...I finally hit 200 cards last night after getting 5 in TA3. No way I'm getting any bosses in that.
I'm really disappointed in the game this year. I've been playing DD since 2017. This yr definitely seems the most unrewarding as far as XP goes. I don't even mind the grind to 1 million XP or 1,150,000 for all 3 bosses - with the old XP rates this would've been achievable over a 12 week period. But this yr it just feels like a second job and I'm already burnt out - I normally make it to early / mid August before I stop playing (normally move to Madden). As others have said - I'll be lucky to make it to mid July this yr...but NCAA will get all of my time starting July 16th.

@SaveFarris The Twitter poll was done voted on by the most hardcore players. You really think more than 14% of the casual player base has a one player from the boss pack? Get real, they probably couldn't even get one if the it was 2xp all week.
Not like it matters anyway, if the 14% of voters are whales that outspending the other 86% of players, SDS will cater to them— see Madden & NHL
-
So double XP weekend helped a lot if peopleget there, I expect to see more of that to get people through the XP path.
I suspect this weekend program is going to yield a lot of free packs with S1 cards in them, this will not only help the 86% by getting free ones, but will lower prices.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the program yields some big XP too.
The only real complaint I can see when it's over will be all these S1 cards people won't have until season is over and will have to use WC slots to actually get to use them.

SDS doesn't need a twitter poll to get that information. They can go look at the ACTUAL data to see where everyone is.
Oh, and if that poll doesn't match reality? Congratulations! You've just given SDS reason to never listen to fan complaints again because they know fans are lying about their status.

Bold of you to assume they listen to us to begin with! /s

I'm just not sure about how reliable twitter polls are going to be. I could easily see people that are unhappy with the game and want the setup to be changed just lying and saying they haven't reached certain rewards in hope it changes things. Either way, as was mentioned above, SDS has the actual numbers so they know where people are at.
For the collection rewards boss packs, I wonder how many are in the same boat as me, where I could get them right now if I wanted to, but I am not locking in those season 1 cards for a season 1 reward. If the rewards were core I would be locking them in.
-
FYI, that poll is for the S1 Collection, not xp reward path...
But reading that so many are still not even at the first boss in the xp reward path is also very unsettling
-
Two links are there 1 for the bosses and the other one is for the XP path bosses

oh, wow, I just clicked on the 1. Thanks! Yes, this should be a big red flag for SDS, hopefully someone sees it!

I agree that SDS does not need a poll, they have the all the numbers they would need to see actual percentages.
To be honest the poll is probably skewed. Who is following MLB the show streamers on twitter? That would probably be the most hardcore players, and a higher percentage of them are probably further along.
According to the web I have 90 hours invested in DD. That is not a lot of time compared to many here but it works out to about 10 hours a week. Now I don't optimize my playing time to get the most XP every session but at that many hours I only have 344K XP. So at my current pace, continuing my normal playstyle, I would need 261 hours play time to reach the first boss pack.
Divide that by 12 weeks in a Season and we get 21.7 hours needed per week to reach the 1,000,000 XP mark. Even though I am retired I am not willing to devote 3 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 months to get one 99 card.
Now, I realize that my pace may be slow but if I have to plan my play time to get the optimal XP per hour played then it's just not worth my time.
This is the first time in a while that I can remember not reaching the first boss pack in the initial Inning/Xp program (when my interest in playing is at it's height).
We won't even discuss Collections. Since I have no desire to do every TA for every division I am not even close to any major milestone there.

Im not even close. Im at 725k xp or around there. I know i won't make it, thats fine f'it.
