I have never played online…. I’m pretty bad! Just a couple of questions…
- Do they have shorter games? Not 9 innings?
- What modes are there?
- Best for beginners

BR and the event is 3 innings, and everything is on All Star difficulty, ranked is 9 innings unless you get mercy ruled then it could be shorter (leading or losing by 10 runs after 4 innings). I also basically never play online but when I do since I also play on Nintendo switch then I turn cross play off

But do not rule out ranked. You will play at veteran and not face higher ranks (control the search bar, in case it takes longer to find a game) …

Except lately it's been hard even finding a match for ranked when you play on Nintendo switch with cross play off

Ranked is by an extremely large margin the best online mode for people who are 'pretty bad', but it's 9 innings. Neither 3 inning mode is particularly friendly to lower skilled, but sometimes you can catch a lucky non sweat run.

Not gonna lie the online is pretty terrible. It’s the worst one of all the major sports titles. You’re literally playing on peer 2 peer slop they don’t have any dedicated servers so each game will play differently. It’s a mode that’s best avoid in a majority of the community opinion only like 9% of players use it for a reason
