Catchers not throwing

I am having a big problem with catchers not throwing when the button is pressed. Is anyone else having this problem?

While the ball is in the air on the way to the catcher, tap the button once. I was pressing it too early and was trying to hold it and was having trouble as well. Tapping the button will lead to less problems than holding and If your issue is the timing, tap the button once after the ball leaves the pitcher's hand (not any earlier).
