I opened a ticket about this and got a clearly AI written response twice in a span of 12 minutes

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out, I'd be happy to help.

For users that want to link console usernames to an MLB The Show account for cross-progression, please follow the steps below.

    From the web:
Log into your MLB The Show account - if you do not have one, you'll need to create an account.
Click 'Sign-in' next to the console logo of choice and follow the prompts.
Repeat this process for any additional consoles you'd like to add.

From MLB The Show + web:
While in MLB The Show, navigate to your profile icon in top left corner of the main menu.
    Select 'Link Account'.
Your game will generate a link code for your MLB The Show account.
Log into your MLB The Show account.
In the 'Code' box, enter the code that was just generated from your MLB The Show game and follow the prompts.
Repeat this process for any additional consoles you'd like to add.

As a reminder, you will only be able to carry progress from one console into cross-progression. Please take care in selecting the correct account while linking as the potential to lose stubs, cards, and overall progress is possible.

Additionally, any stubs purchased from The Show Shop will be locked to that console. For example, stubs bought on a PlayStation 5 will not be available for use on an Xbox Series X.

Please let us know if you have any further questions,*

Both accounts have been 'nuked' to 0 in terms of progression, game history, stubs, no dd squad, basically brand new profiles. Is it gg, rip?

I was able to resolve this by

    1. deleting my save file from the cloud
    2. unlinking my ps account
    3. uninstalling the game
    4. reinstalling the game from scratch

    everything is back.
