Even the content creators/streamers are turning on the game. Yikes

@aaronjw76 200, phew that's alot! That is like .004% of the playerbase! Crazy!
-
@TubaTim90 Congrats, you've earned yourself three packs or 1x 1:5 rarity card. Now [censored] off and buy stubs

I miss weekly wonders
-
@Dankmaymays You took the comment out of context … He is enjoying the game very much, he is disliking the way content goes. This is not the same.
But everyone can agree with this statement regarding content -
@TubaTim90
Excluding flipping of course, which you are probably doing if you have over 100K stubs and haven’t spent extra money on the game.
-
Sorry you don’t have any stubs. Bummer.
-
@aaronjw76
As long as the market is moving all is good in your world. People are frustrated bottom line but as long as the game makes money you don’t care and that’s exactly what SDS wants.

-SDSActually, 1 in 10. Even worse.

@BadaBing_0 Chev might be the exception, but he probably lacks stubs because he isn't selling off his inventory.
OhChev can easily get stubs if he wants, his job is to provide entertainment for people by playing that game and he can turn that income back into stubs.
Being negative about the game is generally bad for business, because why would you want to turn people off to the focus of your content? But he is concerned enough with the direction of the game (and yes, the impact it will have on his job) to tweet about it.
His tweet isnt "woe is me, I cant get these cards" its "I dont see how people not in my position are supposed to get these cards"
If there is a shift among the content creators to focus more on this its a pretty good indication that there has been an inflection point among the general player base (and yes, I am aware most people dont watch streamers or youtube, but its an effective sample size). If SDS was just trying to find out where the line is, its a sign they have crossed it.

SDS had a zoom call with several creators before this game released. All of the big ones listed here and others. That discussed several issues with ‘23 and how to resolve in ‘24. One of the biggest they all agreed on was lack of content and the way it was dropped in ‘23 at the start of the month then nothing for weeks. The content creators pull enough weight to get this call/feedback opportunity, but obviously SDS is going a different direction.
-
@Teak2112 Fair, but don’t forget what gets the most clicks: hot chicks and faux outrage; no one tunes in for balanced and/or positive takes.
Look at all the grifters that came out of the woodwork during the pandemic. Look at Musk.
If the volume of content is not enough to fill time, why not generate rage bait? People thinking that these streamers have their viewers and the gaming community’s interests at heart are lying to themselves; just like politicians.

but obviously SDS is going a different direction.
Filling content gaps with overpriced packs doesn't sound like a winner to me but what do I know?
Better question is why there already feels like there's nothing being released other than packs 3 weeks into the cycle.

I'm sorry that your reading comprehension is at a grade 5 level because none of what you said is reflective of what I have said on this forum. I have absolutely conceded that the direction they have taken is unfortunate and extreme from how they used to do things but it's nowhere near as bad as the whiners here make it sound.
People act like they deserve the best cards in the game for free. They [censored] about today's "content" all the while knowing that an abundance of 93 OVR cards are coming on Friday. We just got 14 new cards for free in the past two weeks as well. Are all these cards top tier? No but they will play for MANY people. I personally know serval people who are just finishing up TA1CH1 this week so clearly content was paced well enough for them.
SDS is a business and clearly the volume of completed orders for many of these pack-only cards suggest that the majority of the people who play this game disagree with the petulant minority.
I've said many times that it would be nice to see a little more balance between premium free content and the overtly pack heavy way DD has gone but I also can't act like they don't give us a [censored] tonne either. Maybe it's the fact I play (played) madden that shapes me view that things realllllly aren't as bad as it seems with SDS but no denying it's trending that way.

I miss the late 90's and early 2000's when we had 5 MLB games to choose from. This is what happens when there is no competition.

Ohchev is obviously exaggerating a little by stating he can't get a new card after going flawless 3x.
He's basically stating that there isn't much left to do once you hit WS, grind both br/events, and the minimal offline programs. Also, in regards to his Flawless BR runs, he's practically saying what I've been kindly trying to say.
You can't let everyone get the top rewards just by grinding for 10-15 three inning games. Those cards won't be worth what they should be if everyone who participates gets one for free. This may sting the offline gamers not good enough at the game, but so be it.
I propose BR, Ranked, and even events should have 2 paths of rewards.
The current grind program we have now, and one that rewards the better players with exclusive tradeable cards.
This will keep us motivated to grind for cards that sell for 200-500k.
Because what we have now is just stupid. 33k for Randy. 55-60k for "at the time" Gagne and Mauer. Those cards should have been 200-400k! The only reason they aren't is bc everyone was able to get them with very little effort! -

No he isnt.
I'm fine for rewarding the top 1% of players, but it should not come at the expense of the other 99%.
60k seems a pretty nice chunk of stubs to me, isnt that also with a 90+ diamond as well?
-
@BadaBing_0 Your not wrong. If their not promoting the product, that means less eyes. SDS did drop ball by irritating their fanbase with server issues and with Switch fiasco mainly. Content is lacking big time as well.

60k is NOT worth sweating your ballz off trying to go flawless. I only did BR to finish the program. I didn't really try to go flawless, except for once. I was 8-0 b4 my first loss. And my diamond for 10 wins was Strider. I pretty much didn't try and focus as hard. I went 9-2 that run. And I haven't attempted BR since.
Don't take offense to this, but 60k seems fine for u bc you're not good enough to even attempt to go flawless. So it doesn't matter to u and those who aren't good enough at the game. But let's say you were.. Let's say out of 5 runs, u hit 10-0 once on average. Would u consider grinding for just a 60k card? I know I wouldn't! And I've actually went flawless at least a dozen times in the past.
The rewards now are just not good enough for regulars to keep grinding BR, unless there's nothing left to do.

Is the card 60k because bad people can play ~50 BR games and get it or is it 60k because everyone's stubs are low due to lack of content and excess of packs?
Not to mention catcher has a great TA option and a great reward track card, and Gagne is...just fine?
The Randy Johnson one is a little stranger, its about the same effort to get to the boss pack as last year but the prices are way different. Maybe its a little easier since I dont have to plug a few terrible cards into my lineup for pxp, but I still got there in 125ish innings.
But I'm sorry, I can't feel sad for someone who considers 70K+ stubs not worth doing something that should be fun/competitive in the first place. its still an option thats available that most people dont have.

World Series rewards always sell for less early in the year because everyone is selling everything trying to complete collections. Regardless those cards wouldn’t sell for 200k if no one has any stubs to buy them. And no one has any stubs because the only way to get them is to go flawless, open packs (not giving us any unless you melt your brain in mini seasons), or buy stubs. That’s the point that the tweet is making.
