Can’t turn double play as winning run is about to score

Why can’t I turn the double play to get out of an inning (for the 2nd and 3rd out) but instead the runner from third crosses the plate before I can even throw to first base. That run shouldn’t count and the game should continue to the next inning. I don’t understand how you guys always make a broken game every year sds….

If it is traditional double play that should not happen.
If say the ball was hit to the first baseman who stepped on the bag for the first out, then the play at second is no longer a force out and the runner must be tagged. Thus if the runner on third scored before that tag happened then it would count.
