Well fellas, I gave in and chose to sell a couple ranked main team players just to do the new program.
I officially feel sick to my stomach having to pay:

    1. 34k for Gurriel
    2. 12k for Martini
    3. 12,499 for Heims
I won't spend 90k for Cruz and don't need to buy Foley for 12k.

So that's almost 60k just to do the program faster.

    GG's SDS!!!! GG's!!! 👎👎👎

Cruz being 90k because of the Buxton meta is pathetic

It's a travesty that you can finish the program simply by buying all of the pack cards

    16 Points for Cruz
    16 Points for Gurriel
    6 for Heim
    6 for Martini
    6 for Foley

50 Points and program completed without ever throwing a pitch or having an at bat.

(Ugh, I am not sure why the forum made those so big!!)

It took no time at all to complete that program. Only card I bought was Heim because The price to usability ratio was good. I didn't even even have to lock him in.

I got to thinking about this and I did buy the cheaper cards mainly for the collection too but I came to a realization that SDS is using cards / packs almost like time savers in other games. I mean think about it I bought all the cheap 10k ish cards and that prolly saved me an hour or more of grinding. This is why the packs are bad outside of the obvious greed factor and not even giving us a pack at the end of the program.

I'm about to drop this game and go back to NHL, which I abandoned for this letdown. My baseball fix needs are tempered by my 0-6 Mets, anyway. Ok, not quite their record, but I'm expecting that, lol.

I'll buy cheap cards in the market (helps out for the collection too), but I won't buy packs. Absolutely won't do it.

Allow me to reiterate. I bought the cards to "do" the program. As in to play with the cards to actually do the program. I'm not locking them in. When I'm done I'll sell the cards back. There's no way I'm spending 60k to lock them in, lol.

I finished the program in 1 play vs cpu by scoring 30 runs on veteran.
The point of the thread was to show my disgust at what I felt was needed to play through the program quicker.
SDS purposely put them cards in packs to get ppl to pay for the cards.
Now if u did the program slowly by first playing with trout, and slowly waste your time playing with each card u earn instead of buying 3 cards to do it quicker, then cool.

Point is, all these topps now and Season 1 cards maybe excluding Cruz should have been obtainable for free.

@Shauwn To me … they could have been … maybe (better solution) there should have been one pack in the reward path.
But on the other hand: These people here complain about everything. Too much to do, not enough to do, too easy, too hard … the cards are not even great, the program is easily done in a little offline grind (as you mentioned) and still you guys find ways to complain … that is really hard to get, tbh

    I agree 100%!
If they gave us 1 pack just to get 1 of the Season Awards cards, I wouldn't complain.
If i got Cruz, awesome! If not, then I'd still be able to have someone to grind with.

Personally, If SDS chose to put the 90k season award Cruz card just in regular packs or maybe a headliner, fine, whatever.
But for them to create a 30k pack, and put all the Season Award cards in there is scummy. Even streamers who kiss their butts agreed.

How it should go next round.
Allow us to earn ALL TOPPS NOW CARDS.
Give us 1 pack to at least allow us to play with 1 Season Award card. I'm not asking to give us 90k cards for free. If I hit, nice, if not then I'll still have a Season Award card to grind the program.

Look, SDS does not have an easy job with all that.
A lot of people thought there was too much content last year and complained the game was too grindy.
But now a lot of people are upset there isnt as much to grind

Where they failed was making more optional grind.
You know where there is optional grind? Every online program. The top reward is typically at 100 stars/20 wins, but then they put stuff beyond that
This is what programs need. this is a great place to put packs.
