Why are the Cubs so bad in this game?!?!

In real life, the Chicago Cubs have made the postseason 5 times in the last decade, including 3 NLCS appearances and a World Series win; apart from the Covid years, they've been contenders every season in that time and look likely to be again this year.
In Road To The Show 24, the Cubs are perennial bottom feeders who lose 90+ games every season; my starting pitcher routinely breaks up 4-game losing streaks, meaning they seldom ever win games I don't start.
This is so ridiculous it makes me disinclined to play.

My first year in the bigs I took the cubs to the WS and won, and now second year we have the best record in the majors. I guess it really all depends
