2024 is the worst iteration since I started playing in 2016
-
@yankblan lol. Fair point. I’ll rephrase, I’m excited for the cards from those programs.
-
Most of the bad things are things that they can fix.
-
Please tell me you're all joking and just need glasses or something?
-
The potential is there for it to be really good. I do agree about the fonts and white screens. Not sure why they went that way with so many discussions elsewhere about eye damage from staring at white and bright screens. I think a darker background would also look better. I mean, this is also coming from someone (me) that hates white-soled shoes too.
-
It seems almost exactly like last years game but you can't use last seasons players you grind for in the next.
-
@Brando-TheGreat1 I don’t see the comparison to ‘23. Gameplay is considerably better and there is the potential for four wild card spots as opposed to one from ‘23. What do you mean you can’t use your cards in the next season?
-
@Honor_The_Game44 I'm loathe to praise '23 for anything, but being able to use set cards in the current season and the next is better than '24 having locked season cards. Yes, they said you can get up to 4 WCs, but we have no idea when you can unlock 4 (my guess is the last season) nor how they are unlocked at all.
-
Agreed. Been playing since 18 and this is by far the worst one. We really need a new company. SDS has ruined baseball gaming sadly.
-
@Honor_The_Game44 your one of the few people who think the abiur gameplay. It’s copy and paste from last year. It appears better because you aren’t facing 95 OVR plus pitchers to start off like last year.
Also the wildcard slots this year are obtained via the reward path. They said on the launch stream it’ll be at the end of the reward path of set 2. Considering 15,000 is the XP path, you won’t more than 1 wildcard until about the last week or 2 of the season.
-
@KingJonEric I completely agree this game plays better now than it will later in the year, due to the lack of high overall cards. But I don't think I am the only person who thinks gameplay is better...actually I know I am not. It is far from copy/paste...fielder urgency is different, balls blocked by the catcher are different and more realistic, pitching is more challenging, hitting seems to provide more realistic outcomes based on PCI location and timing (I am not talking about hits/outs...but EV, launch, etc.) I guess some might not find it better, but definitely not a copy/paste.
-
@crash447 ehhh I respect your opinion but I’ve read more people call it copy and paste then anything else. I also feel the same.
-
This is a serious post? I’m nearly blind and don’t have an issue with the 6, 8 or 9 in the numbers. I can also tell by the speed the player is moving if he starts with a 6 or 8.
Also, under the settings there is an audio/video. I’m sure you can turn down whatever you wish to zero.
-
@fubar2k7 nah he typed all of that and the following comments also that were typed by other people weren’t serious either.

11 or 77, you're still not getting a diamond lol
I will say that I finally pulled a "big" one after opening my 11-pack - LS Corey Seager. So, I finally have one big one this game cycle.
-
I just can't... They made it crazy worse for NMS this year; consolidating drops so they're less frequent is obviously less work but worse for the community, game-play almost seems like it took a step back, programs and off-line content is 10% of even last year... Overall this is a 4/10 and WAY more predatory like EA does FUT and MUT. Make a game for the players. It's totally a financially reasonable endeavor to not be greedy pieces of chit mang.
-
While I agree with OP, if the font and sound effects are what lead you to conclude that this is worst version, then please never ever give any video game reviews ever.

Try telling that to Sony and MLB
"So you can either have everyone hate you, but make a lot of money. Or, you can make 1/4th the money with a customer friendly model, and people will complain about every little thing anyway. And you actually want us to consider the second option? Are you nuts?" -
Well I guess it depends on your criteria but I still vote for 18 as the worst
-
For me, ‘18 is still the worst, and I figured tough to top. But this years game is giving it a run for it’s money
-
I agree with the OP. Been playing the game for a long time and this is by far the least I am interested in playing. I have only finished 1 of the 6 divisions for part 1 and 2 of the "Other Programs". Just can't get into it this year. Getting a bunch of 85 players when they are releasing 95's seems pointless. As bad as Madden is, I am still playing that as the Show was just a complete disappointment this year.
