Fake news. Nothing wrong with Showdown cause there’s players who have no trouble with it. Their experience speaks for everyone else’s experience.
We finally have an offline mode that's somewhat challenging (though not really) that gives good rewards and people cry because they can't mindlessly grind like back in 18 where we could play the Rockies at coors on rookie mindlessly to rack up our 500 hits that we needed. Sorry.
I think their more frustrated with the nerfed hits and CPU making awesome plays to take one away...repeatedly. How do you combat that? Like, when you do everything right but the game is making the decisions....frustrating.
In showdown I'd say 90% of my perfect hits drop, i'll even keep track next final boss I do, most of my good squared's fall, once in awhile the computer makes a great play, but if 1 play is ruining your whole showdown experience I don't really know what to tell you.
Like I said, your experience with it puts all the others to rest. If the CPU is only every once in a while taking one away from you....does that mean it’s doing the same for everyone else?
Am I playing a different game from everyone else? because the way you guys talk it seems like it, I have a friend that's completed all 30 fotf players so far using showdowns exclusively, are we playing a different game than you guys?
You're a better hitter, so you have more perfect hits than most, so more fall in. Same as the better hitters in RS overcoming rng.
When you have less good hits it's easier to point to them not falling or getting robbed.
I’m not even a great hitter, and I’ve had no issues with my perfect hits falling.
The CPU will always make good plays in any mode you play, it isn’t exclusive to showdown. And my hits definitely aren’t nerfed just because I’m playing showdown.
I cant tell you how many perfect hits are line drives to 2and. I'm having nightmares about it. Not that it doesnt happen in other modes, but compared to veteran conquest it happens a lot.
I played showdown in between doing conquest games on Veteran/all star, and I didn’t notice a difference.
Even in conquest you have that one game where the CPU players are all playing for their next contract. A team you regularly murder 15-0 suddenly becomes the '27 Yankees lol.
This DEFINITELY happens

Had a chance but got a ground rule double which stopped my runner at third then I had a bad AB to finish it.When you’re a WS player with thousands of games played and a 6-15 starting point with 3 quirks that make you even better you aren’t going to notice it. Play a few from 0-15 and it’s actually incredibly easy to see the perfect/perfects start to become random good/good and good/okays

Yea grounder to third, Turner was moving to his left tagged the runner got then went 5-4-3 to get the other 2 that both had below 40 speed.

Showdown is the offline challenge I didn't know I needed. I have been having so much fun with it over the last few days and haven't played much else.

going from 1-15 if that's cool, already hopped into another and did the first mission, don't want to waste the stubs if I don't have to.

I’ve won my share and lost my share. It is frustrating when you smash the ball and watch the allstar defense make plays

@ChArTeRBuS
Gg. My point, or issue, is that you have 4/4 perfect perfects in both attempts. You’ll probably have 4/4 next attempt as well maybe another. The good/okay/squared seem to be very random, not necessarily the outcomes. I have near dead center swings labeled good and okay which you just went 0/4 on while going 2/4 on weak contact. The next swing can be slightly worse and labeled squared which gives you a grand slam.
If people aren’t good enough to square everything up all day like you, don’t you think good/okay batting .000 vs weak/late batting .500 might get annoying?

This is the most rigged P.O.S carnival game mode they have ever created.

I’ll save this and show it when players claim “it’s on you”.

Showdown is basically a dice roll. You can consistently square up balls —which is very easy to do on the difficulty given and it’s just out after out after out.
Which imo is not right especially when you are charging ppl to enter.
Look. This is a video game. You can’t say
You need to do A B and C for input and when you do. WE DECIDE if we will ALLOW you to be successful based on algorithms.
That is not a game. That’s a gamble.
I get every once in a while good contact goes to the defense but I mean...you are asking ppl to come back from a 15-0 deficit and then you are perfect perfect good good good squared outing them for 75% of the inputs. It’s just silly.
Get gud
-
I don't mind that Showdown is hard. I mind that it is such a big part of the potential points you can earn in the first inning, so much so that many of us won't make it to 300 points. The alternative methods to get those points are just not fun.
-
I'm giving Showdown a break. I beat AL East once in 3 tries, beat the AL Central twice in 3 tries and have lost to the AL West all 5 tries (Ohtani beat me 3 times, lost on round 1 once (EVERYTHING was lined directly at someone), and lost to Verlander starting 6-15 .. skipped Ohtani). It's driving me up a tree.

I’ve completed about 40 or so showdowns at about an 85% success rate. Maybe you’re the dice roll...

Gotta disagree if you have any eyes at all and can take pitches and put your PCI on the ball mot 4 inches below it or over it showdown isn’t hard at all.
