Fake news. Nothing wrong with Showdown cause there’s players who have no trouble with it. Their experience speaks for everyone else’s experience.

We finally have an offline mode that's somewhat challenging (though not really) that gives good rewards and people cry because they can't mindlessly grind like back in 18 where we could play the Rockies at coors on rookie mindlessly to rack up our 500 hits that we needed. Sorry.

I think their more frustrated with the nerfed hits and CPU making awesome plays to take one away...repeatedly. How do you combat that? Like, when you do everything right but the game is making the decisions....frustrating.

In showdown I'd say 90% of my perfect hits drop, i'll even keep track next final boss I do, most of my good squared's fall, once in awhile the computer makes a great play, but if 1 play is ruining your whole showdown experience I don't really know what to tell you.

Like I said, your experience with it puts all the others to rest. If the CPU is only every once in a while taking one away from you....does that mean it’s doing the same for everyone else?

Am I playing a different game from everyone else? because the way you guys talk it seems like it, I have a friend that's completed all 30 fotf players so far using showdowns exclusively, are we playing a different game than you guys?

I have a friend who has done enough showdowns to complete each FOTF player 3 times over. He says the amount of bs is unreal.

So yeah, apparently the CPU does different things for different players during their games. Otherwise, their would be ONE strategy to beat the ONLY thing the CPU does in EVERY GAME.

Games are different for everyone is what I’m saying.

If you want an actual criticism from me, It's just that it feels like the CPU difficulty presented is NOT the same as the play vs CPU equivalent. watching Tyler Duffey go from so wild he walked two batters in a row without getting close to the zone to watching him dot the corners 3 straight batters and never once making a mistake pitch is pretty jarring, and I don't think I've ever seen that in an MLB game.

I think we'd be better off if they just didn't tell you what the difficulty is at all

You're a better hitter, so you have more perfect hits than most, so more fall in. Same as the better hitters in RS overcoming rng.

When you have less good hits it's easier to point to them not falling or getting robbed.

But that’s not game flaw then, that’s player flaw

I’m not even a great hitter, and I’ve had no issues with my perfect hits falling.

The CPU will always make good plays in any mode you play, it isn’t exclusive to showdown. And my hits definitely aren’t nerfed just because I’m playing showdown.

It's the same argument over and over.

Some people say showdowns are easy. Other people say showdowns are hard and both sides tend to have people who think their experience is representative of everyone else's.

I think we can all agree that Showdown Veteran is not the same as Play vs CPU Veteran. They ramp up some of the sliders just like they did with moments.

So Joe Random who regularly stays around All Star or below, playing a veteran challenge is going to have more complaints, while Sammy Superstar that lives on HOF or Legend won't even break a sweat.

The impatience is what I find will hinder me in showdown. Many times I will draft and skip to the end right away. It is a lot more challenging as you need 16 runs with silver and bronze players. If you are able to go all the way through the missions you should have a pretty decent team and hopefully over 5 runs to help. I will agree I see a fair share of BS but in 20 outs you should overcome them.
I suggest if you plan to do majority of the program take only one silver starting pitcher and all power hitters. If you know the end boss is a lefty or righty stock up on hitters for the final boss. Work the count there is a lot of balls thrown and walks. Last never stretch for the extra base. If it’s a no doubt double do it but no need to give away an out when you have plenty of opportunities to move them over. It’s a station to station mode. Also don’t steal the CPU is ridiculous on getting you out with stealing. Hope some of this will help you guys and good luck!

Even in conquest you have that one game where the CPU players are all playing for their next contract. A team you regularly murder 15-0 suddenly becomes the '27 Yankees lol.

Those who get 12-0 in BR are 10/10 alpha males who have 5 girlfriends and a 9 figure job where they work 3 hours a week, while those who get 12-1 are disease ridden mongrels who should be wiped from the earth in order to make way for more 12-0 superchads.

I’ve gone 13-0 but I make 10 figures while all you plebs do my manual labor so I can’t get on board with getting rid of the 12-1 bums. Who would mow my lawn and fetch my drinks while I sit by the pool making fat stacks?

You're a better hitter, so you have more perfect hits than most, so more fall in. Same as the better hitters in RS overcoming rng.

When you have less good hits it's easier to point to them not falling or getting robbed.

I’m not even a great hitter, and I’ve had no issues with my perfect hits falling.

The CPU will always make good plays in any mode you play, it isn’t exclusive to showdown. And my hits definitely aren’t nerfed just because I’m playing showdown.

I cant tell you how many perfect hits are line drives to 2and. I'm having nightmares about it. Not that it doesnt happen in other modes, but compared to veteran conquest it happens a lot.

I played showdown in between doing conquest games on Veteran/all star, and I didn’t notice a difference.

Same, except I noticed a big difference. Jose Berrios dots a lot more corners

    He seemed normal to me

In Conquest, he's Jose Berrios. In Showdown, he ranges from Rick Ankiel at his worst to Greg maddux at his best. I've had moments where he walked my 3-4 hitters on 8 straight balls, then threw 15 straight strikes to the next 3 batters, all of which painted the black

Showdown is pretty simple. You have two groups.

    1. Those who complete it successfully are mentally strong.

    2. Those who fail are chokers and can’t handle the pressure of a possibility of failure.

Please sir, I have a family to feed. Why did you cut my pay

Alright here we go, so I just lost a showdown because of my own nonsense, went into it down 15-6, here is how the entire final boss showdown went:

    Showdown 15-6
    1 1 pitch ground out just early/weak
    2 2 pitch single good/good
    3 1 pitch single early/good
    4 2 pitch f9 good/okay
    5 good/good single 3
    6 4 pitch homerun perfect/perfect liner
    7 3 pitch L9 good/good
    8 3 pitch groundout early/weak
    9 3 pitch groundout good/good
    10 1 pitch lineout good/okay
    11 3 pitch F8 good/okay
    12 4 pitch single good/okay
    13 6 pitch walk
14 1 pitch double play early rolled over
    15 5 pitch walk
    16 6 pitch walk
    17 L9 good/okay
    18 good/good triple play
    19 L7 good/okay outer edge of pci
    20 1 pitch single perfect/perfect liner
    21 single good/good
    22 Double perfect/perfect liner
    23 Homerun Perfect/perfect flyball
    24 single just early/squared
    25 strikeout chasing
    26 Good/okay groundout
27 flyout double play left early
    28 f8 just late weak
    29 good/good single
    30 Good/good Ground rule double
    31 F9 early good

    4/4 perfects
    4/7 on good/good
    1/6 good/okay

I should have beaten it but I stupidly left early on a flyball trying to take third. My own doing
Had a chance but got a ground rule double which stopped my runner at third then I had a bad AB to finish it.
