RTTS FREE AGENCY

I am on my third continuous RTTS from MLB 18. Last year, I transferred my player from the previous year and the game did just fine. This year, on MLB 20, continuing from ‘19.
The problem: 6th year free agency , I’m offered a qualifying offer, I accept it. Following year, I get offered another qualifying offer. I declined and received no contract from my current team in free agency and it doesn’t make sense. I received contracts 8-9-10-11 years $280 M plus from scrub teams. What is going on?

Can't you only be offered a qualifying offer once?
Secondly, the team did not want to pay the price. See Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, shoot even Marcel Ozuna.

Exactly, you can’t be offered it more than once. I simmed it a few times during the first free agency to see what I was getting and they gave me a contract but took it back before I could open it.

Heres a tip.. Unless they changed the coding (this has worked for years) If you dont get a offer from a team you like, don't accept any. Sim till Spring Training and you will get a option to sign with any team. You have to "earn" a contract offer, but unless you go 0-67 or whatever they will offer you a contract at the end of spring training. Problem solved.

Appreciate that tip

This doesn't always work. On 2019, I won the MVP and then didn't accept an offer from any of teams trying to sign me. I got the option to sign with anybody i wanted but the contract was for a bench role. So, returning MVP rides pine and pinch hits for at least a month or two of the next season. So stupid.
