Quandary on preorder

I preordered the NL edition from PS Direct because I want the steel book and hat. Other than those two items, it comes with the same benefits as the DD edition.
My quandary is that I won't get the NL edition package from FedEx until 3-4 in the afternoon on the 15th (that's about the time they hit our area). If I were to get the DD edition, I can play at 9 pm on the 14th (at least I was able to last year).
I'm wondering if I (or the receiver) will get dinged if I get both editions and either gift the NL edition DL code to a friend or family member or sell it to someone for the DD price.
I don't want to sit on both editions, because as I understand it, the benefits can't be stacked.

There's a code with the NL Edition?
I assume you want the Early access on your PS5?

Yes, and the NL edition comes with a DL code instead of a disc for the PS5.

@Blind_Bleeder Did they already give you that delivery date of the 15th or are you estimating that on your own?

Do you have any relatives or close friends who play MLBTS? Not aware of your financial situation, but bringing joy and happiness is always a great thing so if it were me, I'd gift that DL code to someone and keep the steel book and hat.

A buddy's son plays (this is who I was thinking of gifting it to), and one of my sons plays but he is finishing his dissertation so he can be hooded in May. Then he's moving his family to Michigan to teach at a university there...he has no time (with two boys under three).
I wasn't sure if Sony kept track of who buys and who installs. I didn't want anyone to get locked out because of it.

I think you could gift the code from the purchase. Be no different than if you purchased him the game as a gift initially.

I'm curious if PS players, who may want to make a Money Spent account, to go with an NMS account can just buy the Add On and if it will be available for Early Access.
