Pre-Ordering Deluxe Edition

May be a dumb question, regarding the pre-order (deluxe), early access starts on Fri. the 15th. Am I able to wait until that Friday to pre-order it and still have early access or does it HAVE to be pre-ordered before then? Thanks for any help/insight?

Last year I pre-ordered the day before early access and got all the perks that came with pre-ordering the game.

You can but the Dig Deluxe anytime you want. But if you want to play it at midnight the 15th; you'll need to buy it either before or at that time. Naturally, you'll need to wait until its downloaded. Pwrk to buying it BEFORW the 15th, is that it will download early and be ready at midnight.
Whether or not the servers are ready, is a different question.

Unless you're on the West Coast, then you get to play at 9 pm on the 14th (midnight eastern).

If you’re gonna get it for sure then exactly what @X-FREEZE-OFF-X said about it pre-installing about a week early. It did install for me right away but I’ll admit I didn’t think it would.

Didn't know that. But it makes sense.
