Are Collections Worth It?
-
I've done all the Starter Collection except for the bat skins, and some easy collections like the Curtis Granderson and Kerry Wood collections. But are the other collections even worth it? Like I'm looking at all of them and they don't get you a lot of stubs or XP so like what is the point in doing them? *Just asking because I feel like I'm missing something.

Live series collections are worth it. The others are just for xp to level up faster. Some are even so cheap that it costs you little to nothing to complete. But yes pretty much just for xp. To get your high diamonds quicker
-
Worth it is subjective, To me it's worth it because I can make stubs relatively easily and I know I'll get a lot of playtime out of Mantle. You might be different.

Live series collections, MLB and Minor league stadium collections are worth it as they’re cheap to buy. Equipment is not since you can’t quick sell them after locking them in for a measly 1000 stubs but you probably spent 20k+ on diamonds. Also different variants of cards like “veteran, all star, postseason, etc” hold onto those because they surprised us last year with Honus and you basically had to have 80% of the cards in the game
-
One of my top goals every year is to complete all Live series collections. It’s pretty much what I grind for. You get a ton of XP.
What I do is go through every team and get them to the 30 card level first before worrying about golds and diamonds. This will get you pretty high up the do reward path.
Like someone else said it’s somewhat subjective as to whether it’s worth it or not. I enjoy it so I say yes.
Oh also after you’ve locked all those cards into live series collections, don’t forget to put them into the create a player sets too, that gets you a decent amount of stubs back. I forgot about that until just the other night, was a nice bump to my stubs

ppl who completed collections early last year had a much easier time getting honus than ppl who didn’t lock in early. i didn’t bother with the veteran or all star cards or any of that early on and then when the wagner card came out they all became much harder to get.. then they added the sig teams and other collections where as ppl who had those 4-5 main collections done early unlocked him without doing the post season or sig teams or anything... so i’m trying to keep them completed

Ya I was working on the MLB and MILB stadiums but I'll start working on the Live Series. I didn't even know you can quick sell the cards you lock into collections. I knew I had to be missing something.

I didn't even know you can use cards for multiple collections. This is the first year that I'm actually try harding in this game so I'm learning a lot of stuff that paid no attention to previous years.

You can’t quicksell after locking in, not this year

I’d say no since you can’t whicksell locked in cards anymore. Greedy SDS

You can sell your duplicates but not quick sell the live series cards that you lock in. It sucks that they did that, wish they would change it back

Let's say they did change it back to the way it was and let us quicksell or exchange them. (Not that I think they will). Would people be happy with that decision or cry foul now that's its been a few weeks of this way and they've made certain decisions under this parameter?
I know I would be happy with the change back still.

Yeah they really flipped the switch on us this year with that one. Makes locking in an item frustrating knowing you can’t sell or exchange it

I actually like that we can't just QS everything. It'll lend itself to more varied rosters. Mays was the best player in the game last year, and was too easy to get. There will be a lot of Mantles out there come summer, but nothing like the number of Mays we saw.

All I need are diamonds. Would you do Indians (to get Allen and finish the AL Central), the Astros (to get Nolan), the Mets (only need deGrom) or Brewers (to finish the NL Central). Which would you do first, what order would you do? I have Yankees, Indians, Angels, Astros, Mets, Nationals, Brewers and Dodgers diamonds left.

As much as I hate Nolan Ryan cards, the Astros Ryan card has been solid for me online. I’m trying to get the 99 Biggio done because he’s the only card I truly want. I’ve also done the Indians and AL central first because it’s the cheapest division. 88 Allen gets lit up online. I just hate how I need 4 teams and 12 cards between them for Biggio but it’ll cost me about 450k stubs since I still need Cole and Trout.
