How to handle this player?
-
Every swing is VERY EARLY. And no matter what pitch I throw, they foul it off.
-
Try to get ahead (with those foul balls) then see if you can get a roll over or fly ball?

I’m afraid to throw sinkers, cutters or fastballs because that’s what they’re sitting on. I watch some of the top ranked guys and they seem to double up pitches often…I can’t figure it out

What you want to do is slow there bat back down. So you throw a slider inside to them. Then you follow up with a curve or a 12-6 and then a change. Anything that is offspeed until they are late on it. That what usually works for me. But everyone pichtes different. But if you play on all star and blow everyone sit on a fast balls.

What Bluff said.
Keep throwing the soft stuff until they are late. You do kinda have to challenge now and then or you will never get them to swing.Sure, everyone is sitting on fastballs but you have to throw them anyway. Just don’t miss over the middle. Hanging a slider is worse than throwing a sinker or 4 seam on the edge. I think of cutters like breaking pitches because they seem to get hit harder.

If a player fouls off more than 10 pitches during an at bat, I just bean them. Not going to allow the inevitable rng homerun.
