I stumbled on this story written by Lars Nootbaar. It’s about growing up, failing, trying harder, playing in Japan, meeting Shohei, the WBC, playing for the Cardinals. It’s very cool, especially about playing in Japan.
It’s not in the article, but I remember the stories about him during the LLWS last year, supporting the kids, attending their games - as a fan, along with other MLB’ers. I have a new favorite player to watch, and a new favorite website to explore.
