Has Hitting Suddenly Become Harder?
-
Full disclosure: I've been playing on a very, very large screen with 4K resolution and 120hz speed. For a variety of reasons, I've been having to play on a 1080p screen, I'm assuming at a slower processing speed. I am suddenly unable to hit. It's been pathetic. I can barely hit on Veteran, and when I play online on All-Star in Ranked, I really, really suck. Every game I get maybe 2-4 hits if I'm lucky and strike out almost 1/2 the time or more.
But it's not just me. Granted, the teams I'm playing are also lowly ranked, but they're hitting as poorly as I am. Every game is usually 1-0 or 2-1. Some team might walk into a HR. Or another might steal a run here or there. But neither team is really hitting at all. It's like playing in 1968 and facing Bob Gibson every game.
So my question is -- has the game made hitting appreciably more difficult in the last month or so? Or is it me adjusting to this new system?
The fact is I don't see much of a difference visually. Except I cannot just not get around on a fastball. Sometimes even if I've got the PCI where the pitch gets thrown, I can't get around on it. And then, when I try just starting my swing earlier, I'm completely incapable of hitting a breaking ball or judging whether it's in the strike zone or not. It's really frustrating, and you have to believe me when I tell you I used to be able to hit. And if was sitting fastball, I'd crush it. Playing Mini Seasons Extreme, I was able to regularly beat the computer. Now I can barely muster a run or two in Veteran.
So if anyone has any constructive thoughts, insights, advice, or help, I'd really appreciate it because the fun factor of playing the game -- especially online -- has fallen off a cliff.

It’s you my man
Tv does make a difference though. I bought a decent monitor and I can see the ball easier now.
You’ve got to remember there are also more 102mph pitchers in the game now.
My advice. Take the first pitch at the start of the game. Maybe a couple innings. Once the other player (if) they notice this. You’re then going to get strikes on the first pitch. If they don’t. Then work the count in your favour. I can’t stress how important working the count and being patient is.
Watch the ball out of the hand of the pitcher. That helps massively.

This. My hitting improved greatly when I went from 60 to a 165hz gaming monitor. I'm actually competent playing on Legend now!

I would check your connection because I play on switch with a an old tv. Usually when those problems happen especially that drastic it is connection/slash lag. So even in single player if you leave the game running without playing just like a computer it will chug

You can’t be a good hitter in this game playing on a TV, get a monitor it’s ridiculous how much of a difference it makes.

Make sure game mode is turned on

I play on a average all-in-one PC and it is infinitely better than any large TV I have ever played on. Hitting hasn't gotten harder. If anything Ive been seeing average like records being able to smash the ball on Events or BR.
