I get you don’t want to replicate his MVP card because it’s the same year but what in the actual heck? Card should be a 94 overall

When I saw the attributes, I knew the program was a joke as expected.

Compare the card against the Jazz Chisholm 99 and then tell me which card should be a 94.

I understand it is disappointing. The card is a definite downgrade to the collection reward but if you have the collection reward you can still use it since it is core. For those of us without the collection rewards it is still a nice card to earn.

Could this 99 be better? Sure. The defense is definitely being used to keep it at a 99. But at least there is another really good 99 which is still usable (core) unlike other obvious downgrades that have been released like Chipper.

Think of this 99 as another free card to be used towards the set 4 collection on your way to a 99 Big Mac which is considerably better than the collection reward. You'll be happier. If you don't like either of the final program cards...then congrats. You saved yourself a bit of mindless grinding and can focus your attention elsewhere. Nothing wrong with that.

Could care less whether or not it’s usable, i couldn’t see them topping the MVP Core card anyway so if i want to use Sammy I’m totally content with that card.

It’s just mind boggling the thought process behind this. They played up this program for a week plus and considering how important this moment in baseball history is they (imo) fumbled the hell out of it. That McGwire card is filthy, but a majority of the casuals (even the semi grinders) aren’t going to put the time in for it.

I love this game. I’ll never stop playing it no matter what, but the content has been both confusing and somewhat disappointing.

Confusing and disappointing are 2 words that sum up MLBTS 23. In a vacuum the cards may seem fine but when you factor in the time of year, grind/stubs required, and glaring weaknesses it seems SDS doesn’t understand the player base or how DD works beyond generating stub purchases. It’s a shame because I’ve said countless times that the game has the potential to be great but the ball is being constantly fumbled. Everything just seems “off” this year.

I think the main issue is that 99s are not 99s in other games because of the 125 ratings scale, and other games have a 99 rating scale. Look at Trout his WBC 99 might be a true 99 and his 30/30 might be like 111, but they put 99 on the card.
