Does SDS hate Willie Mays?!

Or have they just literally never looked up his career stats? I won’t even start with his “Incognito” card, but here have a career .300 hitter with over 3,000 hits, over 600 home runs, and 12 gold gloves (still a record for outfielders).
But here we go… they give him a 97 TA card with 76 and 106 power and gold fielding??? Meanwhile, 97 TA STEVE FINLEY has MORE power and DIAMOND fielding??? Is this a joke??? Even the 97 TA VINNY CASTILLA and JUSTIN TURNER have more power???
Am I missing something here? Did someone at SDS get drunk and get their players mixed up? What is going on here??? This is disrespectful, it truly is.The greatest all around baseball player of all time deserves better.

Mantle is probably the best 5 tool player ever and had one of the best cards in the game. I have zero idea what the heck they’re smoking over there lately. Feels like they’re cheating him to make Mantle and Aaron look better and I love Mantle and Aaron as players so I’m not trashing either of them. They’re just not Mays in my opinion.

Well said brother. Mays was disrespected this year with his 3 cards and last year as well. The only cards that truly represented his greatness was his first year when he was the LS reward and in 21. Last year's disrespect was almost enough to make me retire from this game (ask Eric) but this year along with the nonsense GQ set is the last nail in the coffin.

He won his 1st of 12 consecutive gold gloves that year, along with .333 average, 35 home runs, and 112 runs scored (all top 5 in baseball that year). He also became the 4th player in history to join the 20-20-20 club (doubles, triples, homers) and his second consecutive 30-30 season (homers & stolen bases).
I know you’re trying to think of an excuse, but I doubt even SDS has one themselves. They give us these crappy cards that we’ll never use, and disrespect the best players in baseball history at the same time. It’s truly pathetic.

It’s ok if you like Mantle better, but you can’t honestly look at the careers of Mantle and Mays and says Mantle was better. Mays has him beat in almost every major category (batting avg, hits, HRs, runs, RBIs, stolen bases, gold glove awards, and WAR). I have no problem with Mantle and Aaron either, but neither of them were the ALL AROUND player that Mays was. Aaron might have been a better power hitter, but even though he had 1,500 more plate appearances than Mays, their HRs, hits, and runs scored aren’t that far apart.

Dude, I do the same all the time. Somehow, playing and posting go hand in hand. Mantle obviously was hampered by injuries and I know your point is that Mays was the better of the two so his card should reflect that. I honestly feel like they forgot to give Willie a 2nd 99 last year. I believe they will this year but not because I have faith in them, just because there are still 2 seasons and sets left and who else is there?

I love them both but the speed and defense puts Willie over Mickey for me when I rate them in real life. Plus, I can’t hit with Mickey to save my life. I’ve done better with the captain Willie Mays than Commerce Commet.

If mantle didn’t hurt himself on the sprinkler head on the field I bet his speed would be insane. That was his rookie year. We actually have never seen mantle at full health. Imagine he would have alot more attributes in his career. I think DiMaggio set him up. Lol just playing
