Phillies don't have one diamond player but have

I was pleasantly surprised by how many cards the Tigers had for a theme team through set 2. In set 3 however they only got the cards every team gets (TA, ASG) so the theme team will be half LS at the start of set 4.
If theme teams are a focus as they've claimed then they have to release a ton of cards for every team, not just a select few.
Actually, if they intend to continue with sets/seasons, they need to expand the legend pool by a lot so you don't end up with a new Griffey, Trout, etc. every season. Hell, they're on pace for 7-8 Kyle Schwarbers by year's end which is nuts. Nobody wants that.

I don't know did Arenado, Freeman, Machado, or Martinez get a special card for their 300th HR? They all passed that milestone earlier in the season and McCutchen is sitting at 299.
Seems like it would show a ton of bias to give Harper a special card and none of the others.

This is very true, they could throw in a 99 Cueto from the 2015 season (yes it wasn't one of his best seasons, but since when does SDS care about reality lol) or they could do a 99 Moustakus. At least theres a 99 Alex Gordon.

I think expanding the legend and all past players needs to happen for theme teams. Just do a this day in Baseball history set then hey anybody becomes a 99 and next year you can probably find a ton of different players that weren’t even used this year. Here in SD we loved Khalil Greene even though his career stats aren’t impressive. Find a day he did something big in history and hey you’ve got another great card. As a Braves fan give me 99 Francisco Cabrera who’s irrelevant in much of baseball but on October 14, 1992 he drove in Sid Bream so hey there’s a great theme team DH

That's easy. They have the rights to Brett, Perez, Moose, Hosmer, Greinke, Merrifield and I think Saberhagen. That's just the Royals I can think of. How about a little bit of variance. Trea Turner as a Nat instead of a Dodger or Philly. I'm happy we got a Hunter Renfroe Kaiju card but if the Sox or Brewers needed more cards I wouldn't be upset. I want a Moose card for my Angels, but a 99 Royals card would be appropriate, especially this time of year.
Yes, the Yankees are the most storied team in Baseball, but we shouldn't ignore the smaller market fans. 14 Yankee 99s to 1 Royal 99. 65 Yankee Diamonds to 30 Nat Diamonds. That's a huge difference. Arguably, the most storied team in the NL, the Cardinals, are at 8/51. That seems to be slightly above average. They started off the season with similar expectations. Shouldn't they be closer to the Yankees in numbers if it's about history.
Currently the Braves have the best winning percentages in the MLB at 65.6%. The Os are right behind them with 62.9%. If it's about winning then why do the Os have 6/46 when the Braves have 11/53?
When it's about market and popularity, the small guy gets the shaft. The easy answer is to use current players for former teams or the other way around. After a quick glance, I counted 3 Yankee Diamond cards (1 X 99, 2 X 97) that could have been Oakland A's. Instead the A's are 4/38. You could do that for every team. It's not hard and doesn't take long. I looked for maybe 10-15 seconds and found 3 for one team on one team. Spread the love...

They have 17 former players NIL rights on the Yankees and 3 on the Royals. If the Royals had a larger fanbase they’d probably get more of their former players rights. Trea Turner’s All Star card is from 2021 as a member of the Washington Nationals.
How many of those 17 were on other teams? I was giving an example, but thank you for pointing out Trea Turner didn't get a 99, but instead got a 97 TA card nobody uses. He did get a 99 WBC Philly card though.
You are also making my point that the smaller market teams are being treated poorly. Your team is in the second largest market. Because of other local teams, including mine, and LA transplants from elsewhere, the LA fanbase is probably 3 or 4 in size. Yet they are still 1 of 30 teams and should be treated so. I'm not even talking about POTM and TN cards. No one would disagree with Chapman, Judge, and Ohtani getting the POTM cards. However, when they put out a program they will put out cards for two or three large market teams, a lot of times the same team, and a couple for the smaller market teams.
The joke we all say is, we're getting a whole bunch of new cards. 10 new Yankees and Dodgers and an Ohtani card.
Are you saying that Royal fans don't deserve representation in this game because they are a small market team? Why don't we just leave them out all together? Shoot, they only have one hall of famer...Nats don't have any, lets leave them out too even though they're a large market team.

Honestly, the way I play the game, using players from my favorite team the majority of the time, I would probably not play at al if I was a Royals fan.

If I made the game you wouldn’t get more than 2 former Royals who deserved to be a 99. Brett and Saberhagen. To be fair you’d have to limit everyone else to the worst franchises not make Alex Gordon a fake 99, like they did, to get a fair amount of 99 rated players.
I don’t make the game so arguing with me is pointless.
