You actually have the power to do any type tournament you want using Custom Leagues . OPTIONS in custom leagues are vast and mostly unused the use of CPU opponents in Custom Leagues is the best thing you can incorporate if you want dependable foes wo show up on time and dont quit because they lose 2 in a row . And are generally harder to beat than humans . The CPU wont fall for the cheap cheese . Try stealing home on it u nailed 98 per cent of the time .

Are cpu squads auto generated?

No not nnecessarily . I have created Custom roster squads you can play with your Custom DD squads. Matter of fact I wasnt aware you could auto generate nothing in there L OL i havent played with it this year much . No interest in it Eveybody wants to be a YouTube hero. So do I waaaaaaah.
