and BOOM goes the dynamite!
ps younglings, you’ve just not lived until you’ve blown out at least the factory rear speakers in your parents vehicle with some DJ Magic Mike
Yeah, but then he makes you replace the speakers after you earn the $$ to get him the ones he has wanted for a couple of years...Ahhhh, the good old days. Are there any car stereo stores still in business anymore?
Do you remember those first Kenwood units you could pull out of the dash...I stuck one of those in my '84 Daytona...that was a BOMB stereo.
Ahhhh...but I digress...this thread is about the Numbers Retirement Program.

Am I comprehending you correctly that this program can’t be completed without having to use our pittance of stubs to purchase cards for a collection? Say it ain’t so…please say it ain’t so
You've got at least 3 choices:
A. Play the event and earn the cards.
B. Purchase the cards.
C. Wait a few weeks/months for the pack to be hidden in Conquest Maps and/or other Reward paths.

All those options sorta suk as im at this point now. I of course struck out on my pack and got a 97 card. This just wasn't well thought out imo this go around by SDS.

Well this isnt fun ruining programs for me if this is new idea

Yeah, this will be like the Fathers Day program (for me anyway). It’ll just sit out there unfinished unless I just happen to stumble into finishing it while doing another program.

I'm at 90 with the 97 Posada I pulled not collected. Not going to bother with Valenzuela unless the packs become more common or they change the pxp to be repeatable.
Poor design but very much deliberate. They'll keep pushing to see how far players will go/spend for their content.

I don't usually bother with showdowns either but gave this one a shot and beat it. Valenzuela is hard for me to hit but finished with 6 or 7 outs remaining.
Maybe I was able to do it because I didn't feel any stress like I usually do with SD because I knew I couldn't finish the program regardless.

I’m with ya! The WBC showdown is the ONLY showdown I’ve done this year. Failed on all the others at some point.
Extreme? No way, Jose.

Ill def try it to see if I can get that 20 points but still doesnt change my disdain for this program

Let us know how you fare! There’s been a few here now that’s said it’s very doable but of course I never include meself as one in that conversation as I feel anyone making this claim cannot truly understand how sucky I am at this game. I’m skeptical, too, as I’ve come to share in the same philosophy as Theoden King when he said, “…news from afar is seldom sooth.”
(The Two Towers - Book 3, Chap 6 ‘The King of the Golden Hall’)

Lucked out and pulled only card I wanted from this program, Biggio is nasty.
-
I’ve failed twice on Fernando. It’s easy for me until him. I’ve gotten 3 total runs off him in two tries. Plus I had the diamond bunt cheese perk and it did me no favors.

Onliest way I’ve ever found to consistently hit ‘Nando (haven’t tried this showdown yet) is to camp out on that Bugs Bunny screwball and ignore all other pitches. I’m trying this today so I’ll report back…

This is a solid approach, once you pick up the movement, you can wait for it to hang, and spit on everything else.

I'm hoping it's not in the 'season start' reward list of programs needed to get starter stubs, packs and stuff
