The Deterioration of Team based Theme Teams...

SDS really did not, in my opinion, plan out theme teams, and especially team based theme teams very well. I am going to use the Cardinals as an example but I am sure many teams see similar declines.
Here are the 95 and above cards released each set.
Set 1
99 Gibson
99 Wainwright
99 Smith
99 Edmonds
99 Walker
97 Lee Smith
97 Tommy Edman
95 Goldschmidt
95 Arenado
95 Matt CarpenterSet 2
99 Musial
99 Nootbaar
97 Brock
97 Helsley
96 Mikolas
95 Flaherty
95 Carlson
95 DeJong
95 Joe Torre
95 Jordan Walker (lower than previous version)Set 3
97 Edmonds(lower than previous version)
97 O Smith (lower than previous version)
97 Arenado
97 Ludwick
95 Nootbaar (lower than previous version)
95 Gibson (lower than previous version)

95 Gallegos- At the end of Season 1 you could have been using five 99 overall cards
- By the end of season 2 you could have been using seven 99 overall cards.
- At the end of Season 3 you could be using two 99 overall cards and one wildcard (barring a new 99 release in the next few weeks, which I doubt)
- To begin Season 4 you are most likely starting with zero 99 cards and 1 wild card. You will be using lesser versions of four players that you used in sets 1 and 2.
This is just a deterioration of the Cardinals Theme Team (and I am sure many other teams are in the same boat). It kind of kills the motivation to know that my theme team probably peaked in Season 2 and that I will probably have to wait until season 6 in January to have a better theme team again.

Yeah, very sloppy execution. I have no desire to grind any of these Cardinal cards. Ryan effin Ludwick is still a massive L for them, I haven't even grinded enough to get that card yet.

If it's any consolation the two cards in the POTM program can be had by simply doing 4 moments.
Also in the Number Retirement program I got Ozzie buy just doing the hitting moments.

I wish the team captain would allow you to use team cards from any set, regardless of the season.

I still use My Angels theme team in ranked. I switch from live series to best overall Angels team . I haven't won with the live series in a while tho , people are getting better . But I routinely win with the overall team . I decided early to parallel as many cards as I can plus the captain boost makes even the silver cards usable .

But the question is do you believe your overall team will be stronger in season 4 than it was in season 2?

Not saying your complaint isn't valid, but it absolutely baffles me that people can pretend the game is in a good place and actually defend this towards others and then proceed to complain about the lack of team theme consideration. Absolutely hilarious.
