Rusty Valentine manning both 1B and 3B
-
So I just had a game where I realized that Rusty Valentine is both a white guy AND a black guy and has the supernatural ability to umpire both 1B and 3B in the same instant. Seriously!!?? Then there is the famous Chris Singleton comment "some kind of hit and run OR run and hit". Can anyone tell me the difference between those?? Please give me back Plesac and Vasgersian. This is a pathetic abomination excuse for commentary!! I guess I should just turn it off.

There is no difference, they just think they're funny. I mutted commentary about a month ago its made the game a lot more enjoyable. No more hearing about perfect games, or where a player was born, or about how a perfect throw from the outfield lead to a run.

The difference is intent.a hit and run is designed to- the runner goes and the batter is supposed to swing, preferably hitting it into the gap or the spot vacated by the fielder covering the steal,
a run and hit is not a designed play,it is supposed to be a steal and the batter gets a good pitch to hit and swings at it,most of the time the runner has no idea the batter is gonna swing -
