coming back mainly to keep up on moments just in case there is a card I want in the Topps or POTM programs later.
You just described a chore - doing something that you don't really enjoy doing but you feel you should because it might benefit you down the road.
Actually, I am one of the weird ones who usually enjoys doing the moments. I'll take moments over long PXP grinds with players that I don't care about every day of the week.
If I hated moments then I would just not do them at all.

Ugh. I think I'm going to take a few weeks off. I've finished 5 of the 6 divisions for TA3, I'm 3/4 through the current BR reward path, and finished the RS path (using all TA3 players).
And... I'm... burned out. I feel like Forest Gump after he ran across America 3 times... "I'm kinda tired... I think I'll go home now".
I've come to look at this year's edition as "work". I gave SDS the benefit of the doubt with the whole "set" thing, but I'm absolutely dreading going through sets 4, 5 and 6.
So, I'll take a break. I'll be back for sure, but I'm just not enjoying the game as much as I should.
Let me know where your heads are at this point in the cycle. Thanks!
Not sure if you would consider this taking a break. But I haven't played since June 15th. And due to having limited function on my right arm and hand, due to the stroke I had during my surgery, and the 6 - 9 weeks of physical therapy I still have to go through; I probably won't be playing for the foreseeable future.

I play vs CPU games here and there but nothing crazy, I think in general after almost 6 full years of DD it's not as fun anymore because I know how to do this there isn't a challenge or anything that really has me coming back for just one more game.
I feel that way about gaming in general I finally get why FPS single player campaigns are amazing 6 to 8 hours get I get done on to the next

I still love Moments, tbh.
I grew to hate Showdown, and they took out the celebration animations when you walk games off. That meant a lot to me, as you beat those cheating dogs, lol.
Luckily, I play other games.
I'm about to go play some REC room games in NBA 2K with my created character. I have and love F1 '23, still want to Plat GRID legends, which was free on PSN, and is a grind as well. I'm going to try that hard 'Long Live DedSec' trophy in Watchdogs:Legion, while on vacation.
I wonder if Youtuber's get burnt out. They can't say it, I guess. All those lapdog subscribers would be let down, lol. -
I'm trying to get as much done before Starfield comes out in Sept

'23 started out great, as in the first 2 weeks.
But online play is laughable.
I think the only way to complete sets, affinity, etc. is to literally play 24 hrs a day, have no job or life, and probably go insane.
I play one h2h game a day after work, hit the gym, maybe a conquest game, then play Watch Dogs:Legion till bed time.
Online play is too aggravating.
If anyone has time to complete everything, I question their life choices.
Like, go outside or read a book. -

Like, go outside or read a book. It's really not that bad. I've completed everything and I only play a couple hours a day, have a job, family, responsibilities, etc. I even go outside and I read books!

I’m playing casually until Madden drops in a couple weeks, Then I’ll take a break until season 6 starts…Should be about the time I’m finishing up that sweet looking Avatar game that’s coming out…I just find it weird that my team is weaker now than during the first month of release lol. I’m sorry but I like my team as it was during season two. I don’t like being forced to move onto sub par players.
Lastly - The whole reason for seasons was to see different lineups right? How’s that going? I bet your next game is against Randy, Nolan, Ohtani or Donaldson lol
-
I've kinda given up this year. Not a fan of the set thing, don't care for the Captain stuff either.
Alot of stuff is recycled and then there is more stuff thrown on top which is too much.
I used to play everyday but now I only care yo get on on every 3 days or so and it's to play a ranked just to play.
Very lackluster product this year. -
I like the recommendations of taking some time off (even a full year)… I still enjoy the grind a bit, but I just don’t know why I even get somewhat excited anymore with reward packs… Chase, Diamond Duos, regular show packs, etc… I don’t care that they’re free packs, for example all the free packs for grinding the shark map, I just believe they should hit more often… tons and tons and tons of various packs and still can barely pull a 85 diamond… just sickens my stomach, that’s all…
Back to my first statement, maybe I do need a break!
-
I have not taken an official break, but I am playing significantly less than I ever have before. It all just seems like the same thing as always (conquest/showdown/pxp), just the grind keeps repeating over and over this year. TA3 has probably killed my motivation as much as anything. I am starting to do things on the Meta Quest I got my boys and spending my free time with other things. I love playing this game, but my boredom with it has not been a bad thing at all.

The grind to finish TA has been brutal. I'm at 70 of the 90 cards and have finished all the showdown and conquests and also completed a full mini seasons run. They need to drop the pitcher xp challenges down to 400, it's so brutal getting all the pitchers done.
I agree it has been. I am done with 3 of 6 divisions. Have about 30% done of the 4th division. What sucks most to me is that I spend all my time using specific teams to complete TA and other programs, never getting to play with all my favorite players. As far as pitchers xp, I don't have much of an issue with starters being at 500 but relievers need to be 300 or 400.
-
Relievers at 500 pxp is either pure laziness on SDS part, as in all pitchers are 500, or they assume you will use them to start games as normally relievers will not be used more than 2 innings.
-
I think pxp should be further reduced to allow players to test guys out and not overplay players they don’t like. Maybe 150 for hitters, 150 for relievers, and 300 for starters. As it stands now most hitters take more than 1 game and all pitchers need to go about 8 innings to get the pxp requirements.
