Gerrit Cole: Strikeout Attributes decreasing?
-
Cole continues to lead baseball or be in the top 5 for strikeouts each season. However, the game continues to lower his attribute. ( 80 - now 70..) Why is this???
-
243 Ks in 181 IP in 2021
 257 Ks in 200 IP in 2022
134 Ks in 123 IP this year.
His K/9 is going down, which is the metric they use.

Fair. However, it’s still top in baseball and usually they don’t update guys so dramatically during the season, but with Cole it’s gone down 80 points in like 4 updates.

@PAinPA_PSN I just think it’s ridiculous being 70, when he started 80 and he is a top strikeout pitcher in the game. They have bums with higher K attributes
-
@PAinPA_PSN let’s go honest, the guy has broken records for Ks the last 3 seasons and is at 70
-
Gerrit Cole: 12.4 K9 in 2018,13.4 in 2019,11.6 in 2020,12.1 in 2021,11.5 in 2022, 9.8 in 2023.
his attribute should be going down, his strikeout rates aren't as high as they used to be.

@PAinPA_PSN again, you are being as direct as you can be, and I respect that... However, it just seems to be a bit more consistent with Cole compared to other guys... He is also still on pace for 200 plus K for a third straight season and when you sim a franchise he finishes with like 120 now that he is 70.

Doesn't matter how many he ends up with, they base the attribute off of K9, he had a very good attribute in 19,20 and 21 when his K9 was 12,but he's barely managing 1/inning now, that's 4-5Ks per game on average.
To put it a different way, a K9 of 12 is 8Ks in 6 innings on average, but this year he is getting about 5-6 Ks in 6 innings on average.
