…time for a mid season turnaround boys! Game is on Apple+ tonight, first pitch in about 20 min from now (710EST) vs the Dodgers - they’re bringing Urias. We have Senga tomorrow and Scherzer after that an off day then to Chicago to play a set against the Sox and guess who makes their Met debut on Wed? Jose Quintana…finally!

    Let’s Go Mets!

My goodness just heard that Urias flips a switch every year after the all star break….career 22-2 with a sub 2 era…not too shabby but we’ll handle him…right?

We’ve not done too well against the lefties this year so we’ll see

No, I’d have to agree with that. We’ll be lucky…actually it’ll take more than luck simply to make the WC but I’d take it

I think he’s the guy suffering from the WBC curse. He hasn’t been himself all year but today looks great. Fingers crossed he can fix whatever has been off so far by the time Ohtani joins him at the deadline. Lol.

Don't think this is what you had in mind, 1 hit through 5 innings

No, no it is not. Urias doesn’t have to worry about his 2nd half domination streak being in jeopardy on this night. I had hoped when I saw almonte come in that we might respond but…not so. Hey it ain’t over yet!

Looked like he was firing on all cylinders didn’t he? I knew all those walks would bite us and they did. I agree with you on Shohei I bet we see him in Dodger Blue and if that happens look out! What an incredibly DEEP and rich pool y’all have. Makes me sick lol….not as sick as I felt when they flashed back to Mike Scioscia hit that devastating homer of the doctor back in the 88 nlcs…felt like it happened yesterday hha

His last couple have been good. I’m hoping his long IL stint fixed whatever problem he had. I think he was overworked pitching for Mexico. Word is they’ll offer him $500 million so why not unload some of the deep farm and get him early. They desperately need him.

Friedman has been gold for the Dodgers. Guggenheim Group should give him the literal blank check to ensure he never leaves.

What’s hockey got to do with it? jk

Yes I did quite the job jinxing the Mets…not as good a job as they did, but close. I’ll own that and go a bit farther; it won’t be the last time that folks here a witness to my delusions of grandeur!

ps I’m still cross with you for leaving HoJo off your Met list several weeks back so we’re (almost) even

Well, that walk off win last night ended the skid. Now they’ll begin their comeback! Scherzer looked so good last night and all I’ve thought about since is playing some more of that MTO mode so I could play with him and the Mets some more! Sorry @fubar2k7_PSN, as it was against your magnificent Dodgers but they still took the series.

Man how have the Dodgers done it? What incredible depth I mean they’ve basically been without (at least) 4-5 good pitchers that would’ve had most teams throwing in the towel. Most impressive. I still follow Thor and wish him success most especially

Haha it’s all good. I just want a series win. I’m worried the bend and don’t break won’t work in October. They have lots of addition to do at the deadline to the pitching staff all around. I have to play more M2O and get myself some points. Just don’t wanna take up the time and I’ve done the few teams I wanted to do already.

Personal note on Thor. I had Twitter back in the day and he blocked me for spellchecking him even though I was a fanboy lobbying to get him onto the Dodgers. So sensitive.

That’s golden, foob. You’ll be hearing that one brought up from time to time when the occasion to do so presents itself (even slightly) for so long as you and I share this forum together! That’s classic right there! Such a big man yet such paper thin, onion leaf skin hahaha

ps no wonder he’s out with that blister with skin like that!

Mets certainly are entertaining to watch if you aren't a fan of the team. That pop fly on Saturday that bounced and hit Beatty in the face was the highlight of my weekend.

I couldn’t help but notice Beatty either but not for the same reason…he’s getting swole and at the rate he’s going in a few more seasons he’s going to look like McGwire running around the bases where you can see the striations in his quads twanging like strings on a piano

I was flabbergasted. He called the World Series flashers heroes and misspelled it so I corrected him and he saw that but completely missed the 50 Tweets were I begged the Dodgers to trade for him that I literally tagged him on. So sensitive.

Phew I bet he’s really taking it on the chin now that he’s not able to perform the way he’d like. Well we know he is. I couldn’t help but feel for him and how exasperated he seemed the last post game interview I saw of him. Still though that’s an incredibly petty thing to do for someone who’s a professional athlete haha
