Was watching the Rangers RedSox game yesterday and they mentioned Trout having to leave the game early the night before. I looked today and his wrist is fractured. Any Angels fans with the lowdown as to how it happened? I wish him a speedy recovery and he’ll unquestionably bounce back…now let’s sit back and watch Shohei shine even brighter….maybe a new card for him? CF instead of DH? Haha kidding but you know he’s more than capable

There is an article on MLB .com, he did it on a swing, fouling a pitch back.
It's a torque fracture ,more like a crack in the bone ,not a break

Sounds like another year the Angels won't make the playoffs with 2 of the best players in baseball.

Thank you for the info. Wonder if the torque fracture is something that will heal much quicker than perhaps a typical crack? I am truly glad to hear it isn’t a compound fracture or the likes…maybe he’ll even make it back in time for playoffs?

Playoffs? Even if he stayed healthy they wouldn't be making the playoffs.

They’ve got a much greater chance than my Mets do this year of nabbing the wild card. Haha when you wrote that the first thing that came to my mind was that Jim Mora press conference playoffs….playoffs?haha

Could be, no usage for 2-4 weeks then light activity for another couple. had it happen to a coworker once who was lifting cases of water, he was back in 3 weeks but nothing over 20lbs for a couple weeks, was the 5th or 6th week when he was cleared for full duty.
Trout could easily be back in the 5-6 week range, unless they play it cautious.

As someone with a similar injury, and does not have a job that requires the physical effort a MLB player generates during a swing, it was actually worse than completely broken bones.

You don't notice it as often, so you feel better, and keep reaggravating it and sometimes the crack begins again.

I would be very cautious about any return prior to September. Especially if they are not even in a wild card position.

I heard it was his hamate bone. It's usually 6-8 weeks but can be longer depending on the player.

Could have been eating dinner? Tying his cleats? Starting his car? Opening a door? Any of those things, and a lot more, a possibility with him.

Chuck you reminded that I once was changing before work in a factory years ago when the fella about three lockers down from me suffered a complete detachment of the his left quadricep. I’ll never forget how it reminded me of those window shades that you have to pull down just a little before you release them to activate the winding mechanism. I felt so desperate as I tried to render this man aid. Injuries often do have precursors indeed. I hope they don’t rush him back too quickly.

Yeah but he did have surgery to remove (repair the little bone) Wasn't JRam younger than Trout when it happened?

Phew! I thought this was going to be a post about "I can't use Set 1 WBC Trout anymore? No one mentioned this when I bought the game!"

Well that makes at least two of us that’s been pleasantly surprised today! My moment came when I saw Vizzini a few moments ago.

I guess you could say I was “….waiting for Vizzini”🤗
