My opinion on how to make Captians better

I mostly play with the angels theme team . My record is 51 - 29 . I would have a slightly better record if I just used best squad.
I played with an a's theme on casual just to switch it up a little . I was like no wonder nobody uses theme teams in competitive modes . Almost every perfect was a lazy fly ball . The dude was just spamming fastballs down the middle because he knew none of my guys were going to hit it out . I did get a couple of homeruns but man it should have been a much closer game with all the perfect perfect hits I had . -
All they have to do is allow you to use the captain on the bench, stop releasing captain versions of players that have 97+ cards and make all the captains core.
They made the latest batch core, which is a good start, but I shouldn’t have to pinch hit for Cal Ripken every game or use a lower overall captain Kershaw when I have a 99 version.

Captains are trash. More people would use them if the players they affect weren’t so restrictive, or gave captains multiple types of players they can effect.

For my Philies TT JT is a viable captain. But on the pitching side cliff Lee is worthless because it requires to many players . I cannot compete with Philies live cards and DD cards. I am way better off using the best DD pitching cards.
It's a cool idea but certainly has some issues.
The cards expiring is more of an issue imop especially for a TT. I got only so much time and to replace these guys I am going to have to grind for the third time when set 3 comes out.

They really whiffed on the Captains this year.

I have said this in many threads.... in programs captains should be the 1st thing u get thats how u make me use them more

They made the gold Diamond for live series players that was pretty decent. If they released a Diamond captain similar to that it could be a win.
Also the made a Valenzuela team captain with Salvy. If they did a Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic one that would be scary good.

Better idea, allow captains to make any boosted cards usable regardless of their set.

Problem is SDS sees the captains in that program as reward for getting to the end of it.

Earlier on this year they had them very early in programs I don’t know why it changed
