I was thinking about getting a monitor, but not sure if it actually makes a difference or not. Is it a good move or not worth it?

Unequivocally... Yes. Or, I know lots of guys play with LG TV's and like those. I'll never make WS or go 12-0, but I play (and enjoy the game) much more with a monitor.

It’s one thing to point out the game’s flaws, but it’s something else to exaggerate so much to the point of being dishonest.

OP — yes, there is absolutely zero question that a monitor makes a huge difference. And despite what some people may try to say, it is an undeniable improvement on a monitor.

The change was like night and day when I went from an older big screen tv to a 32" gaming monitor. At first, I was super early on every pitch because the response time went from 4ms to 0.5ms. I was finally able to read and react to pitches instead of guessing every time. The graphics also was an update since my tv was old and the monitor is new.

Even a shitty monitor you will see big differences. I thought I was terrible at the game. Played on a monitor starting late in last years game and was able to hit World Series for like 4 straight RS seasons.

Back in 20 when I switched from a Plasma flat-screen TV to a monitor, I noticed a difference. But I was also running my signal through an A/V stereo (Yamaha R-9) and I was playing wireless. Once I changed to wired and a monitor - wired direct from my console - there was a difference.

Since then, I've upgraded to an LG C2 and while it is a lot prettier and smoother, I certainly don't play any better (some moments still take me an hour to get through). The C2 has better specs than monitors in the same price range, but it is large for a desktop.

Take what I've written as you will. I'm an old guy (in my 60's) with aging eyes and reflexes.

Nothing makes a difference. Stop over thinking it.
