Something that really helped me during Moments…
-
…was disabling the PCI. I found that I was hyper focusing on how small it was and it really got in my head. When I disabled it, I found myself naturally watching for the release point, and then tracking it to the plate and then waiting until the last moment to swing (when the ball shadow reaches the transition point from grass to dirt) and I found that you just kinda naturally point your analog stick towards the ball. I’ve seen a lot of people struggling with these moments and I just wanted to offer it up as something to try. It changed everything for me and thought I’d pass it on.
One other thing - I started physically sitting my controller down until the pitcher throws his first strike. If I just say I’m going to wait for a strike, I’ll swing at garbage every time.
Give this the old college try and see if it helps.
