Expiring Set cards being used with Captain boosts...

...should not expire.
While I like the Captain boosts, I am not a fan of the Set cards expiring format. For example, several of the cards I am using for the Bett's Captain boost (95+ Arm Accuracy) are Set 1 and will be expiring in a few weeks. Therefore, I need to replace them with Set 2 or Core cards, which do not currently meet the Captain Boost requirements, until they are paralleled high enough (CT3, Youk, Mays, etc.).
There are not enough Set 2 or Core cards, worth using, that meet the Captain's requirement, without being paralleled. Therefore, I am having to stop using some cards I like, in order to invest in Set 2. For example, Ruth is my soon expiring DH, and even though he will never fulfill the Captain boost requirement of 95+ Arm Accuracy, I need to replace him with Set 2 Harper in order to get Harper's Arm Accuracy to 95 at P3, so he can count towards the 9 Captain boost requirments. Realmuto, Ke'Bryan Hayes, are two of my other favorite cards, which meet the Captain requirements, which are also going to have to be replaced, since they are also expiring soon.
Having a single Wild Card, will not do much to solve this issue. If they want us to use Captains more, then they should make some adjustments to their (expletive) expiration rules. They should allow us to continue to use any card, as long as they are locked into a Captain's boost.

Another example of how they implement something new without testing it first.

On a side note. I wanted to use that Captains Betts as my right fielder, or even my DH, but when I saw what cards are able to be used in conjunction with him, without having to P3 anyone, none of them would make my lineup as each position/card has a better card available.
I have a feeling this Captains/Set format, and possibly the 99s at start, is going to be a 'one and done" format.

I just wanted to copy your post and add my two cents.

Thanks for bumping, hopefully SDS will read it and make necessary changes.

It’s ridiculous actually

Unless they come out with another hitting captain for Phillies I will have to wildcard JT.
The pitching captains for the Phillies are useless because the amount of pitchers needed to get the full boost is way too high. Unless you want to have a 10 era there absolutely no reason to use them when you can use much better pitchers without a captain boost.
The theme team thing feels like it was half azz implemented.

They encourage us to use Captains, but have not done much to encourage that.

just a heads up I'm pretty sure parallels don't count. as in the players have to meet the captain requirements naturally on the base card.

Yep, thanks. They will probably make changes to this. It does not make sense why they would not allow paralled cards to count, unless its something to do with the programming.

Not all captains are going to make god squads. Why would they? If you are going to play ranked I understand the need for the best cards but otherwise the cpu have adjustable difficulty idk

I’m all for the captain boost, I really am!!! But the last batch of captain cards were about as silly as it gets. “Arm accuracy captain”?? “Durability captain””?? Tall guys captain???? I mean that’s just ridiculous!!

Eh -- ridiculous in requirements sure, but it plays better than some of the team ones. Since they released so many really good cards from the start -- even boosted a bunch of LS team cards with boosts will play worse than whatever other card you have at that position.
With the tall/short/durabiltiy/etc captains you can atleast use other really good cards and still boost them further which makes them more in play IMO.
