Defense needs a look

Throw urgency remains very random. Sometimes they throw immediately, others the fielder pauses like they're buffering. Pitcher PFP's are flat out bad. I've had a bunt covered with the first baseman only to have my pitcher late to the bag. This happened twice in a single inning to me, and probably 7-8 times over play. Sometimes balls in the air just seem to hang forever turning a line drive into an easy flout. And the classic ball bouncing over your head in OF remains as hilarious as ever. I'm actually loving this year's game, but their are still some glaring issues

This is annoying but it’s likely tied into a players fielding rating and if they are at their primary position.
While annoying when it happens it’s a good add cause players fielding ratings actually matter.
Though it would be nice to see the ai abide by the same rules when playing mini seasons or offline on hof and above. The fielding rating seems to have no effect on them as they are able to get to everything. Which is why the game seems so hr or bust now.

I don't know about that, because according to SDS Babe Ruth is the greatest defensive first baseman in baseball history.
I have lost track of the number of times he has employed "super dive" to snag a line drive, headed to right field that is exactly halfway between first and second base and throw from the seated position to the pitcher covering for an easy out, or making a jedi like leaping grab of a line drive that was headed to the corner for at least two bases, and of course the ever popular line drive that goes from the bat directly into his glove for the free no tag double up of the runner on first that took no extra step.
All this despite the fact that in his 22-year career he played a total of 219 innings at first.
Other defensive superstars are left fielder Frank Thomas and Catcher Jimmy Foxx, who despite playing only 800 innings as a catcher is somehow better than Johnny Bench.

The bunt defense is horrible
