And if so, what was your gameplay with Taylor Rogers?
I stopped for the night when his Elimination Mission came up.
I'm worried that with his funky release, he'll throw low in the zone, to increase ground balls. That's my Achilles Heel. Ground balls.
Almost failed the mission before Rogers because I hit into multiple ground ball double plays. Only won because I lucked out when the ball bounced off the bag at second base.

Cruised thru this showdown first try…loaded up on LHH and it was pretty easy.
As for Rogers, just like with the Charisma and Chaffin boss (again, heavy LHH lineup) I just skipped and went to the final boss down 5 runs.
8 outs against Rogers didn’t give me confidence, especially with the way defense plays and robs ya, I just skipped it.

Just posted this in another post about this topic...
The one bit of advice that I would suggest if you are doing Showdown is to skip Tyler Rogers.
He is the boss right before the final Showdown. You only have something like 7 or 8 outs to get one run, but his wind-up is so funky that it makes it really difficult to pick up the ball. Got to him twice and was completely baffled both times. Zero hits. My next attempt I just skipped him and went after Nick Martinez. Having 20 outs to get six runs off of him was considerably easier.
This is coming from someone who likes Showdown too. Save yourself the frustration and skip that man.

Blew through it this morning in about 30 mins. Hit a lead off Hr against Rodgers. Martinez was a joke 3 pitches 3 solo home runs
-
Yeah I was worried as soon as I saw the first pitch from Rodgers but, he throws so slow I was able to beat it with several outs to spare. Not a bad strategy to skip him though I just got greedy and wanted fewer runs for the final.

I have no answer for getting past Urquidy let alone any further. Literally played it 4-5 times now, Altuve made a jump throw home from shallow center on a slow roller that got past SS to get me at home. Lol
-
I actually skipped Taylor just to make sure. Down 6 with 20 outs vs Martinez was pretty easy
-
Michael Harris hit a tank for me off Rodgers. Hitting off pitchers like Rodgers is easy , concentrate on the release point let the ball get big , swing just below it because it will drop a little because he throws so slow .
-
Thanks all. I though about skipping him but I'm concerned about losing out on there runs. Some of my wins thus far were completed with one out left.
I was getting robbed left and right with Common fielding fielders. Yepez and Adell both separately robbed me of Moment winning homeruns and had diving catches in some instances.
Again, my concern with Taylor is his release. If the CPU throws low in the zone; I'm concerned about ground balls.
Guess I have a decision to make. Lol

Snap your pci to lower third. The release is from the side, so stay low. Once u get someone on, bunt him over, so u don’t get the guaranteed double play on your next abat

That's a great game plan. I just have one issue. No matter the batter I ALWAYS end up bunting the ball straight up in the air for a pop fly. Happened so many times that I almost never bunt in Showdown because I'm afraid to mess it up. Especially during an Elimination Mission.
It will all come down to whether or not I want to chance losing against Taylor and having to start over it if I want to take the chance of losing to Martinez without those last three runs. 6 runs with 20 outs is possible. But you can't mess up.

Ok. So I ended up playing him he pitched totally different than I thought he would pick. Pitches were all over the zone. Ended up hitting a no doubter, with LS Tucker, with 3 outs remaining. Now on to Martinez.

Yea, the bunt perk helps. I found drag bunting is actually better then regular bunting

Quite easy for me... just ya know, be super patient & tire out the pitchers if you struggle with hitting.
Draw some walks, then move the runners over by using Left Handed Batters...fly balls, etc. Get em home.

I skipped him not worth the risk, Martinez was BP
-
Just finished it also and I skipped to get to final boss. Won with 8 outs to go

This Showdown took me a lot of tries. It wasn't Rogers that was the problem, Gallegos was really tough for me and a lot of times I didn't make it to Gallegos. The first time I got past Gallegos I managed to beat the rest, including Rogers, but the only time it was "easy" was the last one against Martinez.
Note: I am not a good hitter.
-
Took me like 5 tries, my focus ended up being on looking for batters with good contact and power Vs right handed pitchers. I believe they are all right handed.

Taylor is a RP, so logically. Take pitcher’s pitches, swing at hanging stuff, it’s not like he throws 100, this was very easy.

Um my gameplay was not doing the 2nd to the last showdown it’s not that hard to score a few extra runs.
