Serious question. If my opponent is quick pitching me, and I have a fast runner on third, I'll try to steal him because 9/10 they are already close to the pitching animation and they either fall to the ground or throw the ball off center which pulls the catcher off the bag.

    Is that considered cheap?

I say no; because if they weren't quick pitching me and paying attention to the guy on third they could just step off the bag and throw me out.

Kind of like suicide squeeze bunting in the winning run.

    No?

Nothing cheap about that. If you are able to be quite successful with that strategy then it's quite smart.

Fall to the ground? What does that mean? Because if it is a glitch in the game that you are taking advantage of then it does sound kind of cheesy.

Sometimes instead of throwing the ball to the catcher the pitcher will just do a dive towards third base. It doesn't always happen. But when it does happen; it's usually a guaranteed steal of home.

Don't know if it's an actual glitch I'm exploiting. All I know is it ONLY happens if the pitcher is already in his windup.

Pretty much what happens is as soon as I know he's quick pitching me, after throwing the first pitch, I'll hold down on the L2 trigger initiating the steal. When the pitcher starts his windup, I'll let go of the trigger, and instead of throwing the pitch, it cuts to my guy stealing home. Now, if he isn't paying attention while I'm taking the lead and doesn't step off the mound, that's when he pitcher 'falls'.

If they're paying attention and they step off the mound before I release the L2 trigger; they can just throw home.

It's almost like the pitcher is just about the release the pitch.

Again; I'll only do this if they're quick pitching me. And what I mean by quick pitching is if they're already in the release motion as soon as the screen flips from the catcher catching the pitch. 9/10 I can't even call time or hit R3 to bring up the defensive alignment or don't even have time to hit R2.

And I can tell they're quick pitching because they throw 2-3 pitches within a few seconds. It's like they're releasing the ball before I can even move my PCI.

50/50. But last game, if you check my history, I accomplished it three times (once an inning).

It's also hard to explain without seeing it and it doesn't work in offline games. I don't think it's an actual glitch. I think what is happening is that since it triggers the screen to flip because I'm trying to steal a base that they're trying to hit square to throw to third and it's registering as a dive instead. Sometimes it also happens if they hit X to thrown to home as the pitcher dives towards home plate.

If I was able to upload that part of my last game I would show you it in a video.

If you are playing a cheeser then I would say no, its just payback. But if a guy is playing it straight up then yes, it's you cheesing him.

Is it cheap to steal home?…No. It’s been around since baseball began & is a rare and awesome sight when it happens…However, When you said you wait until the pitcher goes into his windup because this causes him to “fall down” and allows you the time to steal home - This is 100% abusing an exploit.

I’d have to see it. Sounds like it might be an exploit. Generally, if you have to ask if it’s an exploit, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.
