When to Buy Trout?
-
Should I buy Trout now in the 250-260K range? What do you think happens to his price considering all the 95+ cards available in game already?
-
Other cards wont make a difference for him. He is the gate keeper for LS collection, which are all core cards and can be used all year. Unlike most of these current high diamonds. He will eventually go down but not until towards end of the season I would imagine.
-
I was hoping Ohtani would replace him as gatekeeper. Oh well.
-
Do we think the price goes up? I know in the past the card has reached 500K (around Stub Sales)…
-
When? As soon as u can.

He pushed up into the 400k range at some point last year... so... I don't know.
-
He used to always stay around 300-400k but the last two years he’s dropped to 30k eventually. So I would do the rest of the collection first and just buy him for whatever his price is at that time.
-
He'll stay pretty consistent with his current price, however, a good time to buy is during a flash sale. The market typically sells off to buy the flash packs and also the fear that a "live series" pack may be coming. Who know when that will be though. I typically try to complete the live series first and just wait to grab the gatekeepers when I know I have enough stubbs.
-
Buy him asap and get it out of the way. If u happen to get another, u score big
-
I bought him around 250 and Shohei at about 150 at the same time. I have 99 Trout and 99 Ohtani which are better cards but I needed those to complete the LS. The last expensive card I needed to finish the LS was actually DeGrom. In the past I've pulled him or bought him right away but he is no longer a Met.
As for when to buy Trout, I agree....ASAP. . After the first stub sale his price is gonna shoot up

I find it rather perplexing that a higher diamond isn’t the gatekeeper this year and that it continues to be Trout.

A lot of people don't like using Judge with his huge strike zone.

I am debating on the same thing. By the time his price dops towards late Summer the game is winding down and Madden and other games are coming out. I went back and looked at his prices in the Show 22 and 21 and he touched 500,000 last year so I am leaning to buy

Well to be fair, the gatekeeper has NEVER been about usability. It’s simply an unlock to greater things. I would assume it’s statistically more difficult to pull the highest diamond (Judge) than Trout and by default that would be the most expensive is all.
I don’t care either way mind you I just find it odd. -
