Not sure if it can be patched; but I noticed during certain cutscenes, and sometimes during when the ball is in play, that the graphics/frame rates run REAL slow. Kind of how it played last year when you played at Kaufman Stadium or FOD stadium pre patch.

I assume this isn't the case with a PS5, or the Xbox equivalent.

Does this mean we're near the end of this game being able to be played on a non current gen system?

Does anyone, using a PS4, also notice this?

Is this a bug and can be fixed?

Agreed. I have noticed this too. The game is virtually unplayable on the PS4.

Perhaps it's time to move on and buy a PS5? It's widely available nowadays and it's been 3 years.

I’m strongly considering making the jump. I bought the digital deluxe, so I have the PS5 version of the game somehow, right? I didn’t get a code or anything so how does that work.

Those that upgraded, is the different noticeable!???

I think everything will just stay the same as long as you stay on Playstation.

That makes sense. So what’s the noticeable difference(s). Will I be able to read the pitch out of pitchers hand easier and have less input lag on MLB stadiums ?

To be honest with you, I'm not really sure. I've been playing on PS5 for a while now and this game still doesn't really run optimized in my opinion. Other games however, the upgrade is very significant and noticeable. Either way, the PS4 will become obsolete very soon so I think it's really time for people who haven't made the switch yet to do so soon. If I were in charge at SDS I wouldn't even support PS4 anymore and focus solely on current gen hardware.

hmm. i notice the same thing. Particularly on balls hit up the middle. I also wonder if this is why im struggling to read pitches compared to prior games. I may need to just get the PS5 as well but i never saw a need. If it is affecting this game i may do it....especially seeing this is the only game i religiously play

That’s where I’m at. MLB stadiums are noticeably slower for me. Depending on the opponent I feel like I’m behind a lot of pitches. CO-OP I’m guessing on pitches because of the connections.

I just upgraded to a PS5 because of the frame rate issue. Definitely worth it. No lag, and I play better. It did take a few games to get the timing down.

I got my ps5 in February so my dual gen experience was the show 22, but yes it is very noticeable.
as for the digital deluxe thing, on the ps5 you will be able to choose which version to download no code needed,(the store and the desktop on ps5 is radically different and will take some getting used to)

When you go to the library to download the game it will ask you which version to download (PS4/PS5)

@raesONE-_PSN that's a pretty shortsighted way to think. I have the game for both 4 and 5 in different locations of my house, but not many people can afford a ps5. Fact of the matter is that if they release a game on any console, and people pay for it, it should work. Otherwise don't make it available.

That's what I was saying, they shouldn't make it available anymore for PS4. It's been 3 years, it's widely available nowadays and it costs $500. We're not talking about buying a new car or a house here, and we also both know that PS4 support will be discontinued at some point. All I'm saying is I'd rather see it sooner than later. It took long enough, if you can't save up $500 over a 3 year time period then you might want to reevaluate your life or simply come to the conclusion that gaming isn't all that important to you.

The last Playstation game was released in 2004
The last PS2 game was released in 2013
The last PS3 game was released in 2020
Not releasing games because us Americans/Canadians can get PS5s is quite a bit of disrespect to those in places like Latin America or South Asia

The PS5 is globally available according to Playstation, anyone around the world can order one directly from them.
And nice facts you mention there, but what's more important is how many triple A studios were supporting PS3 in 2020 through either updates, servers or both? I'll tell ya, zero.
