How to play Conquest Maps

Although I've been a longtime player since the very early days of The Show from the late '90s, early 2000s, I've never understood how to play conquest maps -- is there any tips and/or videos that really break it down into simple terms ... sort of a Conquest for Dummies tutorial?

@TEXAS10PT_PSN taught me how to do conquest maps and it helped me quite a bit.
Sim spaces to each stronghold and play games to take them. You can reinforce your territories as you go through the map. Take all the strongholds first and then go back and sim the rest of the spaces, reinforcing as you go.
